Has anyone compared iTunes HD season 1 to gold box set

Does anyone know if the HD of season 1 on iTunes looks better than the upcoverted DVDs? Is the iTunes version an up convert itself or truly 720p remaster?

Just downloading the pilot now to check it out.

When did these appear on the store? Seems like they have slipped out without much fan-fair (which would suggest an upconvert if you ask me).

I downloaded the Pilot two days ago but won't have a chance to watch it until this weekend. I don't think it's been on iTunes for more than a week. These appear to only be on the iTunes US store - is that right?

They are true 720p from what I can see. The quality is much better than the DVDs, I'm totally seeing things I've never seen before.

Here's hoping it's truly 720p and not an up convert. Maybe I'll buy it to support TP or maybe I'll wait to hear from you guys.

Hmm. Overall, the picture is a bit more detailed, but I'm not that impressed with these to be honest. Think I'll wait for the 1080p bluray versions instead of grabbing any more.

All episodes are available on torrents. Just finished downloading first season. It's not upscaling, it's true 720p (more details), but not as good as I expected. Hope BluRay will be better.
