Gameboard about Twin Peaks? Help needed!

Post by perno »

Just a question here... Is there any gameboard about Twin Peaks (official or not) ?
I've got an idea but I don't want to waste time on it unless I'm sure it has never been done. ;)

There are at least two official Twin Peaks board games. One, from England, was called Twin Peaks Murder Mystery Game. There's some info about it here:
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1163 ... stery-game

I have a copy - it can be fun if you're playing with other fans.

There was another game released in Japan. I believe it was mostly a card game...I've never been entirely clear on the details. There was a write up about it in one of the issues of Wrapped in Plastic.

(There was also a separate Japanese card game - no board)

The boardgames seem very different from my own idea. But if you have any info about the card game, it would be great. :)

Thanx for the info anyway. :)

Perno, if you make one, we'd be happy to read (..., see, play) about it :)

First game yesterday and it rocks! :)

I have to tune it and make my proto look better (hand drawn cards aren't that great) but we really had fun with a simple, fast and easy game. :)
Even those who did not know anything about the game enjoyed it which is a good point of course (even if some cards as "the log lady" or "the burning smell" seemed strange to them...)

I'll try to get this one published. Even if it means to make an unofficial version of course (do you think rights for a game could be easily purchased?)
If I can't publish it, I'll make it free on my website even if printing/cutting all the cards needs a lot of work (believe me!)

Hey Perno,

If you wrote (or would like write) a review of your board, I'd be very interested, and wouldn't be the only one ;)
Si tu as une ptite présentation de ton jeu, je serai très intéressé, et je pense pas être le seul ;)
Sinon t'es d'où, on pourrait peut-être se faire partie irl, un jour! (moi j'habite dans l'ouest de la France)

Enjoy!

Well... To keep it short, it's a card driven game in which each player makes a mission to get clues about Laura's murderer.
Fact is that the murderer is amongst the players but, because of BOB, he doesn't know he's the murderer himself ! Innocent have to put him to jail and he's got to make some else there !

I live near Paris (94 to be exact). If someone here happens to live in the area, I would be more than happy to welcome him in my gaming club for some games... :)

Where in the west are you ? I often go to Normandy for holydays...

No pictures yet. Cards are just "playable" at this time. I have to make them look better. :)

We were 5 for the first test. The game should be ok for 4-6 players. Maybe 3 but I don't thnik it is that much interesting...

Yeah, you're right, for this kind of game, 3 is maybe not enough...
We're really looking forward you can post some photos, when it's finished ;)

Wow, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm a big fan of board games and card games, and I'm certainly VERY interested in your game!!!

That sounds perfect to me! :D

Up.

Just to say that the game is almost finished and that it could be released one day or the other...
Nothing's done so don't hold your breath 'till you can buy it but I cross my fingers really really hard.

Just a question, does anyone know how to get the rights to publish it as an official "Twin Peaks game" ?
It would be for a very small french company so it would prabably be too expensive but we've got nothing to loose asking... ;)

You would need the approval and an agreement with CBS Merchandising. You would also need to get the approval of both David Lynch and Mark Frost.
