Laura's house for sale
http://www.estately.com/listings/info/708-33rd-st--3
Lots of renovations had been done since then. I can't even recognize Laura's room anymore lol.
The kitchen is completely different too

I was looking at these yesterday! They are SO cool to see!! (Laura's room is the green one- and they only filmed in the actual bedroom for the pilot- they recreated her bedroom as a set for FWWM to have more room. And added that little alcove where her dresser is).Agent Sam Stanley wrote:http://www.estately.com/listings/info/708-33rd-st--3

Anyway, they've pretty much changed everything on the inside.

I had my suspicions that was the one lol. Thanks Ross.Ross wrote: Laura's room is the green one- and they only filmed in the actual bedroom for the pilot- they recreated her bedroom as a set for FWWM to have more room. And added that little alcove where her dresser is).
They sure added a lot of space. And changed the windows? They used to be in front of where her bed used to be right?
Re: Laura's house for sale
I believe the windows are the same. The pic in the real house is just looking in the opposite direction than we see it in the pilot, and mostly than we see it in the movie. So the wall with her dresser (in FWWM), or just her bed (pilot - see attached pic) would be the opposite wall of the wall with the double window. The window that Hawk is in front of in the pilot pic is cropped out of the new "real" bedroom pic.Agent Sam Stanley wrote:I had my suspicions that was the one lol. Re: Laura's house for sale
The new pics in the house are a bit misleading in size, as I think they were taken with a lens that sort of exaggerates the length/size of the room (probably because they are real estate pics).
Anyway, even though they've changed everything, these are still cool to see. The chair seen in that pic from the pilot is still in the house. In the room across the hall. Which I believe was Leland and Sarah's room.

And looks like the fan remains lol
Take a closer look at the picture of the entrance. You can briefly see the fan cord above the stairs

Re: Laura's house for sale
They should totally be promoting that FWWM was filmed there in the house listing!!

Re: Laura's house for sale
When I saw this posted I went through every possibility of buying this house. Haha, not possible right now, but it's so amazing to see! I thought the basement and the backyard shots were interesting. We never saw them in the series, but I had just see Laura in the basement, up to no good.
Re: Laura's house for sale
Palmers aside, it's actually a pretty damn nice house.
Re: Laura's house for sale
Would someone be able to simply explain which house was used for the pilot episode? The same one which is shown in exterior shots throughout the series?
Then in the series they were on a set of course.
For FWWM, this house that is for sale was used right? However, somebody has posted in response to a Welcome to TP article on facebook that they built a set for Laura's bedroom in FWWM. I thought maybe they were wrong on that one because it really doesn't loo like a set!

Re: Laura's house for sale
James, the same house was used for interiors in the pilot AND FWWM. A set was built for the series, adapted from the real place. Laura's room was a set in FWWM - the scene with Leland and Hawk was filmed in the actual room though... and where BOB is hiding behind the bed.
There were no interiors filmed in the house you see as the Palmer exterior in the series, at least that we've ever seen.

The Everett newspaper has a short interview with the homeowner, Marilyn Petterson, that's worth a read. It includes a picture that shows the original fan is no longer in the house.TheArm wrote:I just wanna see that landing to see if the ceiling fan is still there!!! Laura's room was a popular set. “The window hasn't been opened since Laura,” Pettersen joked. “They kept it closed so Bob couldn't come in. Bob's not getting back in here.”
Laura's bed, the wicker rocker and that hallway fan are among the show's iconic items. “They took the bed to Hollywood, and the fan,” Pettersen said, “and they paid handsomely.”
