Re: Planning to attend the 2016 Twin Peaks Fest?
Thanks for the compliments. There were so many cool and unique costumes. Attached below is a pic of all but one of the contest winners. First place was awarded to three gals who recreated the famous Rolling Stone cover pic, however they ran out after winning like their asses were on fire, and I couldn't manage to get all the winners in one shot.
As for being intimidated, no shit! I'm an adult and I felt dwarfed by the other regulars & superfans, but that wore off quick and I made some really great friends and we had an incomparably excellent time. You need to get out to this event at least one more time, especially after Season 3 makes Twin Peaks a global phenomenon. . .again.

So Mordeen, I hear that either you or your son figured out at least one or two of the pins that Cooper wears in episode two. Is this true?

True, though it was a collaborative effort that included my wife as well. It's the red bar at the bottom of the four lapel pins he's wearing: a 5-year military service bar. If you screen cap the blu-ray and zoom in you can make it out. We got a 25-year bar off Amazon because of the reference to 25 years in the dream.Jerry Horne wrote:So Mordeen, I hear that either you or your son figured out at least one or two of the pins that Cooper wears in episode two. Awesome! If there had been five pins, we could speculate one for each five year block he has spent in the Black Lodge. So what? Just random pins and badges assembled by the prop crew? Lynch tends to be more hands on than that...?Mordeen wrote:True, though it was a collaborative effort that included my wife as well. I'm certain each one has meaning. In fact, I debated with my wife that the service pin actually did read 25 and not 5. Even with a blu-ray screen grab it leaves a little to the imagination. Would love to get my hands on a restored original print of that scene, but that's the geek in me.
The two pins above the bar are definitely flame-shaped. We bought a pair of faux ruby flame earrings to substitute. As for the other pin. . .who knows. Way too small to make out.

For those of you you either went or watched the Q&A panel, did we get any spoilers/hints about the new season at all? Thanks

Oh HELL NO. They made it abundantly clear that Spoiler Talk was verboten. That didn't stop everyone, but the closest the Q&A came to discussing Season 3 was simply acknowledging it even existed.vicksvapor77 wrote:For those of you you either went or watched the Q&A panel, did we get any spoilers/hints about the new season at all? Those pix are ludicrously adorable. I should've cosplayed as Agent Cooper when I was 9 and had a chance. Neither Mädchen nor Kimmy appear to have aged a day.

Thanks! I'm super proud of my kids' enthusiasm, especially since we didn't push this idea on them at all. We just asked them if they wanted to enter the costume contest and they freaked out.N. Needleman wrote:Those pix are ludicrously adorable.
Here's a few more. I mostly captured my kids & family shots, so I'm still holding out hope someone else will jump in and post pics of the other contestants. There were almost 30.

Mordeen, the pics of your kids on costume are fantastic. Cool that they are into it!
