I think it's now obvious why so much of the merchandise has been so focused on the original series. Laura left a marketable corpse - the new episodes, not so much!

The rock love one is made of silver and plated with gold, while the etsy one is brass plated with gold. The rock love one also uses a real stone instead of resin. However like you pointed out, the engraving isn't accurately dark. You could probably color it in though with a fine tip brush.

Interesting - I was hoping they would make an official ring.

This does look a little more expensive than the fan made ring on Etsy. And it is only gold plated as well. On the other hand it has a stone rather than resin which may be nice. But the black part does not seem as defined as I recall it in the film? Is that just me?

What do people think, the official ring or the etsy ring? Or would it be better to save up and order a custom ring from some jeweler?

I am rather wary of it being gold plated, as I can be rough on things and I expect I'd wear it quite often. Does anyone here have much experience with plated jewelry? Does it hold up?

The picture of the ring posted by Jerry looks like a digital mock-up (or at least the symbol looks digital). They've got some other pictures on the site where it appears to be the real thing, and the owl symbol looks darker. I don't know if those images were up before or if they were recently added when they actually produced some finished rings.

That Cooper standee is brilliant.
The Showtime store folks are really stepping it up with these cool interesting merchandise items.

I have never bought anything from their store.
What is their shipping packaging like?.
I might buy a few things together.
But i know its going to cost me alot of money to get them to me.. :(

Some of the mock ups of the ring look like the symbol is printed on faintly in white. However the symbol appears to be engraved and hence darker in the other photos.
