This revival should be about finishing unfinished business. For me the ideal situation is that season 3 brings the story to a satisfying emotional conclusion, and it is well regarded and profitable enough that Showtime greenlights an original project from Frost and Lynch.... Or just Lynch.

At this point I want the new series to be amazing and successful. I don't think I want anything more. Based on the conclusion of the new series, I might change my mind, though.
This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.

My dream was to see this season split into two and Lynch shooting a fifth season this or next year, so that we have at least two or three years with the new Twin Peaks.

But I'm so grateful for this new season with 18 fucking hours directed by Lynch. Even if Lynch only would have made a new two hour Twin Peaks movie, I would have been really grateful.

Yep! I'd hoped for perhaps a TV movie or old school 2x2 hours miniseries at best. What we're getting is far beyond my wildest expectations.

By 2000, I'd accepted that there would never be another network series, but had hoped for another movie, either for TV or the cinema.

It was really as the cable limited series era boomed that I began to hope for some sort of revival. I'd long speculated that the 25 years later section of the European cut of the pilot, the dream in episode two and Laura's remark in Episode 29 would be picked up around the silver anniversary.
