You also had a bit of a Frank from Blue Velvet vibe going.

i am however, a little miffed at the prospect of having to face a "suspiria" remake.

very good post, thanks for this! i agee with pretty much everything you said. Cronenberg is easily one of the best film makers we have got, he would just make my top 5 and still to this day i check for anything he does.. have you read his book "Consumed"?

yes! i liked it, but it's pretty far out.
next step: rocket science!

Kenneth Welsh (Windom Earle) had a guest role on NBC's "The Blacklist" tonight.

I think all of the lyrics to "Getting to Know You" (from The King and I) fit nicely into the Bob/Cooper mystique

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me.
Getting to know you, putting it my way,
But nicely,
You are precisely,
My cup of tea.
Getting to know you,
Getting to feel free and easy
When I am with you,
Getting to know what to say
Haven't you noticed
Suddenly I'm bright and breezy
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I'm learning about you
Day by day.
Sharing your spirit,
Sharing your tears and your laughter
Hoping it goes on,
Hoping it lasts endlessly
Getting to know you, putting it my way,
But sweetly,
You are completely,
My friend you see.
Telling you my dreams,
Getting to feel that you're with me
Making our own fun,
Knowing we know how to play
Now that I've met you
Suddenly I'm mostly happy
I've found a new pal, beautiful and true
Yes I'm talking about you
Friends Today

Similar to how Get Happy sounds like a song about getting ready to die.

Leo's sweater reminds me of a merging of the lodge floor and the static blue tv screen in the FWWM opening.

Random question -- I re-watched the pilot for the first time in a few years. Was Mark Frost the one reading the news on the broadcast in Leo's place? I thought I read it was him, but he's not on the cast list.

It's him, and he even reprises the character in the SHOTP audiobook.
Recipe not my own. In a coffee cup. 3 TBS flour, 2 TBS sugar, 1.5 TBS cocoa powder, .25 TSP baking powder, pinch of salt. 3 TBS milk, 1.5 TBS vegetable oil, 1 TBS peanut butter. Add and mix each set. Microwave 1 minute 10 seconds. The cup will be hot.
