That Cooper shot might make for a good cliffhanger ending one of the early episodes.

To me it's only used to convey as a certain mood in the promos.map_project wrote:Wow, they slowed down the theme a lot for this teaser.
The time stretching is overtly audible, and it doesn't sound very good. It's a bit confounding, since it doesn't really seem like something a professional would do inadvertently. I wonder if there's a message being conveyed here by stretching the theme like that.
Time slowing down...?
Or perhaps it's more like a general introduction for time being an essential concept/plot device for the new show.
I think so too.Rainwater wrote:I think it's likely a version made by someone at Showtime, specifically for promotion.
Correct- we have no idea what the soundtrack will bring. Will they use some old tracks as is? Will there be newly recorded versions of old tracks? But using slowed down versions of existing tracks was something they did on the old show often, so this version of the theme fits in with that. But we don't know if it's just for the teasers.Rainwater wrote:We don't know how much of the original soundtrack is used in the actual series and whether this track is in at all.
I'm guessing Lynch will be contributing music this time (as he did for FWWM). And the biggest difference is that it seems they will be featuring actual pop/rock songs this time around.Pöllö wrote:Are there other composers beside Badalamenti? Also, is Julee Cruise going to have new songs in the show, or is she only an actress?
Will be interesting to see if they still keep the original intro music.
Will be interesting to see what kind of music Lynch will contribute. Hope it's not too 'out there'.Ross wrote:I'm guessing Lynch will be contributing music this time (as he did for FWWM). Lynch wrote some great material for FWWM- most notably, "The Pink Room".Pöllö wrote:Will be interesting to see what kind of music Lynch will contribute. Hope it's not too 'out there'.
Lynch mentioned in a Skype session with an Israeli university (can't remember when, but it was obviously post-2014) that he and Dean Hurley were working on new music for Twin Peaks. Whether it will make the final cut or not who knows, but I can picture something along the lines of his dream-pop-esque tracks from The Big Dream fitting the series.Rainwater wrote:Far as the original score goes, maybe Lynch himself has composed something - other than that, I don't think so.
