Here's my first swing at it: "A gifted FBI agent investigates the murder of a small town homecoming queen who's death could be linked to a serial killer. Under the pleasant veneer of the small town lies corruption, depravity, deceit, and an unseen darkness that inhabits the woods, and quite possibly some of the local townsfolk as well."

The show is so thematically rich that it's hard to write a concise blurb that sells every aspect.

Going into the show, I wasn't fully aware that it involved supernatural forces, so maybe newcomers need not know that, either?

"An investigation into a young woman's murder uncovers murky and horrific revelation about the idiosyncratic townsfolk of Twin Peaks."
