Quirks/Habits that enhance your Twin Peaks viewing experience

Post by kitty666cats »

I'm sure countless people brew themselves a pot of coffee when they're settling in to watch an episode (or five), TP will do that to ya. Many others will pick up some donuts or pie, even. I'm sure a lot of people get stoned out of their gourd (I sure did when I first watched the show years ago)!

I don't smoke pot anymore, but I've found myself smoking more cigarettes than I usually do upon my rewatch I'm going through at the moment. But my BIG discovery, which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys incense, is finding yourself some Sandalwood incense and lighting it while you watch. I swear, the scent of it whisks me right into the show's universe, it's like my bedroom has become a room at The Great Northern.

Do you folks have any rituals you like to partake in when watching?

I'm learning to bake donuts in preparation for the new episodes... with modest results so far, but it's only my second foray into the wonderful and strange world of baking after the humble muffin. And the deadline's still far away...

Hunched over my computer, on Netflix. It's sensational! You should all try it.

Ever since the announcement I started practicing Kundalini Yoga every day.

"Saa Taa Naa Maa."

May the long time sun shine upon you
All love surround you
And the pure light within you
Guide your way on.

I occasionally watch Twin Peaks to enhance my dream experience, by falling asleep to it

Everything we do in our waking lives affects our dreams, so yes. My dreams do get weirder.

That's interesting because I've never figured out what affects my dreams and in what ways. I sleep like a baby after watching a horror movie, other times I toss and turn after an entirely uneventful day - although, whereas I had frequent nightmares during my childhood, I could almost count the ones I've had since then on one hand. What I do before going to sleep usually seems to have no impact. Haven't really been able to find a pattern, at least.
My dreams tend to be pretty unremarkable in general, and I don't remember most of them. Maybe all my dream-fuel is used up by daydreams.

I am an experienced and trained (lucid) dreamer. I'd love to discuss the subject further but I can delve so deep into it that I'd feel I'd be taking the thread off topic.

This is the specific incense I was talking about. Seriously, the nice woody smell transports you right in, it's so good haha

Sounds fun but what is the benefit of lucid dreaming?
