Interesting. It's listed as "Two episodes of Twin Peaks", but it's safe to say it will be parts 1 and 2.

Question is will it screen before/after Showtime's premiere. I still say after or simultaneously.

The festival takes place from 17 to 28 May. My guess is that they'll screen it before the Showtime premiere. It'll be very interesting to see the reactions, especially since FWWM was panned in Cannes back in the day.

Right, so more than half the festival takes place after the 21. It would be strange to be so spoiler conscious for the last two years and then let things leak out as the last minute. I could certainly be wrong though. Anyone know how long before they generally announce specific screening dates?

If it's after, it won't be a premiere

They haven't announced a schedule yet. I think they usually announce it a few days before the festival. Not sure, though. But yes, it's a premiere, so it'll probably screen before May 21.

It screens on the 21st. Most likely some hours before the TV premiere (otherwise it would be at 3 AM).

The schedule will be announced one week before the opening ceremony. Eyeboogers is probably right, the most plausible scenario is to screen it a few hours before the Showtime premiere.

Right. Somrwhere around 8pm in France would make sense.

Which means I'm avoiding the Internet on Sunday night. Sparse tweet reactions to the premiere can spoil just as much as plot spoilers in my mind.

Wow. Cannes and Twin Peaks come full circle. I am happy for Lynch, I'm sure this means a lot to him. I won't be surprised if this screening results in a special award for the show and/or Lynch.
