Cover Art and some more info on Complete Series box set!

Post by jmichael »

TVShowsOnDVD is running a story today that features the cover art for what we were previously referring to as the "complete mystery" box set (Paramount is tentatively calling it the "Definitive Gold Box Edition."

The release date is October 30th, and while no further details are offered, the article teases knowledge of excellent special features being prepared.
Full Story Here

The "gold" color is certainly an odd choice for the series, but I love the image of the red room floor replacing the road!

I quite like the picture but the logo's hideous and gold is the worst colour imaginable. I'd rather they did something simple and did it well. The problem with that cover is it does look like it was made by a fan with too much time on their hands. It doesn't look professional, or even tasteful for that matter.

Twin Peaks had such a distinctive look. The (original) logo's beautiful and I'd like to see it incorporated into the DVD packaging. As a rule I'm not bothered about packaging but I have no furniture that'll go with such a box. It'll make my house look cheap.

There's been too much talk about the special features and it's going to be impossible to live up to all the hype.

What bothers me most about the artwork is the fact that they insist on calling it "definitive" when we all know there will be no original audio tracks or Deleted Scenes.

The only good thing is that the set will likely be released in HD so my eyes can finally recover from the poor compression of Episode 29 on the current Season 2 box set.

Wow... How annoying...

I have to admit that I am a Twin Peaks newbie.
I bought the Complete Season 1 box set approximately 6 months ago because my brother insisted that I had missed something great...
And he was right.
I absolutely loved the first season, but.... I have yet to see season 2... Yeah, I know... But I heard of some "Complete Mystery blabla set" which sounded good and I have to use my money sparingly so I thought; "Hey. I am a patient guy, I'll just wait"
No disrespect to all you guys who've waited for years.
But I agree! Gold? What the? And the logo? BWAH!
And it pisses me off hearing about the audiomix and the missing deleted scenes and such...
Definitive my ass!
I probably end up buying it anyway... I hope the cover changes and that it will not be delayed for several years..

:p

:P
Look! Ducks! On a lake!

why not something simple like this that uses the classic logo and imagery? Nothing amazing, but straightforward and inoffensive...

and the back cover based on audrey horne's suggestion...

Whatever, JUST NOT THE GOLD ONE!

perfect, Charles. Now the back just needs the Audrey/Cooper Double R diner shot and it's complete to me.
God, I love this music. Isn't it too dreamy?

Couldn't agree more, a perfect cover. Clean and clear, none of this gold malarchy! The tile path/road on that gold cover is SO tacky.

Yep it's ugly. And ya know what? I'm a complete sucker and I'll buy it the day it comes out. I'll pay way too much money for it and be excited about it at the same time.

It's because of the sucka-foo's like me. :?
