Twin Peaks Inspired Music/Art...

Post by DreadDub »

I was curious if anyone knows of any music or art that has been inspired by Twin Peaks/Lynch...
Lynch's work is so powerful that there has to be bands or other artists out there that have been influenced by him.
For one, I play in a band in New Orleans (The Projections) that I am unembarrased to say is heavily influenced by Lynch's work (as well as other art - especially film). Check out our latest, a definite Twin Peaks inspired ditty at -

Hope you enjoy...

I checked this out a while back. I'm sorry I have not replied yet. You were part of the inspiration for an idea in another thread. Anyway, I dug your tune. Really neat stuff. I definitely could see the Peaks influence in the song. :) Please, please, please consider being a part of the remix project!

We would be happy to contribute to the project. We'll start thinking of a couple of tunes we could make our own...Recording is not that difficult as we do our recording ourselves and seem to end up with good quality recordings. Send us some more information when you are ready...
My e-mail is dreaddub@charter.net

What style music do you play? Anything I can check out online? Do you have links to any other artists that have had songs influenced by Lynch?

Thanks for the response...

That's great to hear. Looking forward to whatever you guys end up producing. I write a bunch of different styles and I used GarageBand, mostly. I myself am not the best live performer. But anyhoo, if you want to check out some of my stuff here's a couple:

"Acid Rain" -

The same question has been raised at Angelo Badalamenti's myspace site

As to non-musical influences, Lynch is possibly the influence #1 for independent bands.

there is a metal band call Audrey Horne (TP) and their debut album is called No Hay Banda (Mul D). There album is worth checking out if your into metal etc.

Also Mr.Bungle's self titled album has several Blue Velvet samples throughout.

hey guys. i recorded an album by myself last year and did a song called "the waiting room". its 100% inspired from TP but i think it also reflected alot of my life at the time, with the fear of being stuck in one place and nothing ever changing. its kinda jazzy i guess, so check it out if you want and let me know what you think. (and if you want to hear the rest of the cd, let me know i will hook you up)

Marilyn Manson also has a track called "Wrapped in Plastic" samples of Laura's chilling scream of ep 29 throughout. Also Fantomas have a track Fire Walk With Me in their directors cut album
