It's a shame we only get 8 minutes of deleted scenes from the series. I wonder if that is inclusive of the 4 scenes from the gold box as they seem to be the last 4 mentioned on this list and I believe they are not in HD...

Yes, these four are from the Gold Box Set and are about 5:45 in length:

Jerry's Wandering Eye
27 Going on 6
Lucy, Andy, and Donuts
Something About Johnny

The length of the other deleted scenes were already posted on the BBFC website:

00:00:21:00 DELETED SCENES - COOPER AND DONNA TALK ABOUT PICNIC
00:00:51:00 DELETED SCENES - PICNIC
00:00:40:00 DELETED SCENES - COOPER AND TRUMAN AT GAZEBO
00:01:28:00 DELETED SCENES - MAYOR'S SPEECH
00:01:24:00 DELETED SCENES - LUCY AND RACCOONS
00:00:43:00 DELETED SCENES - 16MM PERIOD PIECE

Looks like these two are missing though:

Bobby Coaches Shelly
Lucy and Deputy Andy

I think the 8:19 length is just the new deleted scenes that are in HD, plus the 5:45 length of the SD deleted scenes, coming up with 14 minutes of deleted scenes total.

A little interview with David in the Guardian to promote the Blu-ray box set:
http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/ju ... lk-with-me

Two choice excerpts:

“The pilot is the thing for me. Because there were different directors and different writers and we wanted to give them freedom, things drifted a little bit and also I started working on Wild at Heart. “But just the same, I love the world of Twin Peaks and all the people that live in the world. It’s just that looking back I wish for myself that I had been closer to it.”

...

Would he consider creating new Twin Peaks stories?

“In another life, yes.”

How about in this life?

“Like I say, you never say never.”

We get on to the subject of remakes. He says he has no objection to them in principle, although there are limits. What would he say if someone wanted to remake, say, Eraserhead? “If they were near me I might shoot them. If I had a gun.”

Agreed.

I was hoping for a bit more, but since everything had probably been lost/destroyed, its great that we get anything really.

Can you imagine if they would have kept all those cut scenes?

I'm guessing the first 5 are from the pilot?

The 16mm piece is most likely the old footage of Ben & Jerry as kids?

Bobby coaches Shelly is discarded original version from ep 27

And "Lucy and Dep Andy"??? We shall see!

I still don't get why Lynch chose to leave a few deleted scenes out, like Norma and Shelly on their way to work, Leland making funeral arrangements, the extension of Laura & James flashback scene and Doc Hayward conforting Donna before Laura's funeral.
We know the scenes still exist, some of us even had a few on them. I've never seen the Doc Hayward/Donna scene myself but I think Jerry posted a few pictures of it.
This is the definitive TP box set, so why not just include everything?

And I'd just LOVE if they kept the Script to Screen Analysis featured in the Artisan's box set and continued that for season 2. Shame :(

They scanned it all in at 4K, and 4K is currently developing as a format, you figure it out :P

Actually only FWWM was scanned at 4K. One other reality is that Twin Peaks may never be released on 4k as even many of the original negative used for the initial HD transfer no longer exists.

I'm sure if they feel so inclined somewhere somehow they'll find a source to use. Sure hasn't stopped them in the past.

Are the FWWM deleted scenes also in 4K?

WHAT?! Why the hell they did not secure negatives?

I'm talking about the deleted scenes only, and some of them are not even in HD, so 4K is not really an issue here.
The scenes exist, no reason why they should not be included with the others.

Agree with Sam here- very odd decision. Especially since most everything (deleted) is completely gone. Why not give us all that they do have, even if its the same awful quality as the (deleted) scenes on the Gold Box?

On another note, a friend just posted a pic on Facebook showing the bluray already on sale in our local supermarket here in Finland. Am now faced with the decision to wait for Amazon UK to dispatch it or cancel the pre-order and go and buy it in town. It works out the same amount of Euro's either way, but I don't wanna do it and find mainland Europe has been stiffed on the extras front.
