More from Digital Bits
Speaking of which, work on Twin Peaks: The Complete Series on Blu-ray is also well under way at CBS, with a release expected in time for the end of the year or early next. Multiple sources tell us that a deal has been made to allow the inclusion of David Lynch’s Fire Walk with Me film in the package, so fan will at long last be treated to a truly complete set.

I'll believe it when I see it... and... this really is our last hope for FWWM deleted scenes. If it doesnt happen with the eventual blu-ray set, I don't see it happening at all. Has anyone else reported this aside from DB?

I've just confirmed with a source that yes, commentaries for all 22 episodes of Season Two were recorded back when Paramount owned the rights.

The stars are aligned. I think it will happen this time and I think there will be about an hour of deleted scenes.

:D  :?:

Sure hope you are right Jerry!!! Can't wait to see them. Of course 22 years of anticipation is a lot to live up to!! Hopefully they will be finished and SCORED scenes. If so, I'm sure someone can edit at least some back into the film. There are definitely some scenes that should have stayed in IMO.

I sort of have a feeling we may not get the post-series scenes though (Annie/Cooper). I'm just thinking that since Lynch originally cut them, he may want to leave the series ending as the last we see of Twin Peaks...

Those are the ones I most want to see.

I do too- as I think most fans want to see a glimpse of what happened after the finale. And maybe we will. But part of me just thinks Lynch may want to leave that ending of Cooper/Bob as the last image we see.

I imagine if we're getting them (and I'd say it's a damn good bet we are) we will probably get them all

I hope you are right. I just remember reading a few years back David Lynch had cherry picked 17 deleted scenes for a possible release. Near impossible to choose between all the deleted scenes in the script, would love to see them all as well as the non-scripted scenes.

I'd love to see the extra Philip Jeffries stuff, but I have a feeling it won't be included. I hope I'm wrong about that. Always been curious what that Argentina hotel set looked like.

That's something I've also been very curious about, so let's hope we'll somehow be able to see the Argentinian scene or scenens soon.

I'm really hoping for those post-series scenes, and I'm desperately hoping for the Argentina stuff and the missing above-the-convenience-store stuff.

Naturally I'd like to see as much of the deleted material as possible. What would be truly spectacular - and I know this is a major long shot - would be the option to view the deleted scenes integrated into the film. John Neff wrote in another thread ( http://www.dugpa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2333 ) that he feels David Lynch wants the scenes fully scored, color-corrected, and so on, as if they were part of the finished film. So, if the scenes end up being finished in that manner - and I hope that's the case - then my wish becomes at least slightly more plausible.

If not integrated into the movie (and I don't think Lynch wants that) it would be cool if there was an option when watching the movie to see the deleted scenes where they were meant to be in the film. What I mean by that is like the "follow the white rabbit" special feature on the old Matrix DVD... like a symbol appears on screen (like the Owl Cave symbol maybe??) and when you hit enter on your remote in takes you to the deleted scene, then when the scene is over the movie resumes. It's not quite an extended cut of the movie, but it might be the closest thing we'd get. The question is whether or not David Lynch can be convinced of such a thing...I love the guy, but he can be the biggest crumudgeon sometimes about stuff.

There wouldn't be any need for an icon to appear and a button to be pressed for BluRay, it can do truly seamless branching to include multiple cuts of movies on one disc. The problem with attempting that is you then lock in the quality issue, which is always an issue for Lynch anyway but if they didn't match up exactly then there's no way it'd happen.
