We think the military is getting involved with the murder, because of Major Briggs who may or may not be the headless body in South Dakota not the ones in New York. The body contains a ring from Dougie, so...

-Twin Peaks. Our Friendly Neighborhood is once again besieged by a drug trader that once again involves the Horne family. This time a super secret member, maybe, and a dirty Twin Peaks Cop. Speaking of our police force, we are minus one Harry Truman thus the entire force is diminished. The Log Lady has given Hawk a mission to find Agent Cooper. We have a new Office Truman who seems more stoic than a statue and probably doesn't care or give a shit about Cooper and has a nagging wife. We do get Bobby who may have to ties to Shelly. We don't know. Shelly's kid is a Laura Palmer wannabe with a potential Leo as a boyfriend. Then there is the Horne's themselves who still own the hotel and a new pot shop thanks to Jerry. All this plus Jacoby trying to scam people to buy shovels. James guest starred to for some reason.

-The Lodges. The Lodges...Those fucking Lodges. Zero clue. Like none. We know forces opened a doorway for Dale to return, but he was thwarted by a tree arm with a head who could be Bob. Could be. We also think that Bob has connections to Evil Dale and has given him supernatural powers. We also think that someone is trying pull something out of the Black Lodge and got a bunch of horny kids killed. A murder the FBI is looking into and we might. We might next week get someone to talk to someone out of these seven camps and forge a chain of events. Maybe.

Am I missing anything?

Are you missing anything? Yes, a few things:

"Briggs who may or may not be the headless body" - Episode 5 confirmed a finger print match between the headless body and Air Force records of Briggs. There is no longer any doubt.

"once again involves the Horne family" - I don't recall anybody in the Horne family being involved in drug trading in the original series or FWWM

"entire force is diminished" - Frank is filling in for (or has replaced) Harry and it appears that the force is larger than it used to be

"potential Leo as a boyfriend" - that slacker who is partnered with Becky is as far from Leo as North is from the South. Leo worked driving his own truck, spent weekends adding rooms to his house, "encouraged" Shelly to keep the house neat and still found time to take side work as an arsonist. That is a whole lot of (misplaced) drive and initiative. Becky's guy's idea of initiative was to take a half baked resume into a job interview and find satisfaction from the constructive feedback (Mike telling him how awful he was).

"Jacoby trying to scam people to buy shovels" - not sure how this is a scam. Selling a $10 shovel with $5 of added gold spray paint for $30 (plus S&H) is pretty straight. The buyer wants one of these novelties and is willing to pay a few bucks to have something to show to their friends.

Exactly what I was thinking...if you look at the computer screen you see she has zoomed in on one particular print on the right hand side of the screen..on the left of the screen is what looks like a smaller version of the same print but in reverse

Yes, I noticed this as well. It was the same effect used for Laura earlier in the season. Definitely adding fuel to the argument that Dougie's home life has been manufactured in some way.

Yes. Clearly perpetrator Cooper's intake form shows "L ring" caption reversed and shifted to the right margin beneath the print. The image however seems to somewhat match the shape and orientation of Coopers FBI , L ring print.

so... Has this been manipulted as not to trip up automated print detection in order to hide evil Dale's tell-tale deformity?

Oh and By the way...

Can anyone ID the statue in the B&W picture hanging to right of Agent Preston's Apple screen?

MacLachlan is acting his ass off and doing such a great job anchoring this piece.

Dat lime green blazer tho. Green is the complementary colour of red, possibly suggesting how Coop is still tied to the Red Room even after leaving; or that he possibly left the ostensibly evil place with beneficial powers to do good (slot machine wins, calling the colleague out on lying).

I don't buy the Sonny Jim backwards blinking. I'm rewatching it now and it's nowhere near as exaggeratedly backwards as Laura's.

Mr. Reindeer wrote:So how are peole interpreting the car bomb sequence? Going into Part 5, we weren't clear on whether the device Gene and Jake plant in Part 3 is a tracker or a bomb. My initial interpretation in Part 5 was that the woman who reports to Buenos Aires (I'll call her the dispatcher) was fed up with Gene and Jake's incompetence and sent in the heavy hitters (the dudes blaring loud music). But these guys then unwittingly trigger a bomb and kill themselves.

So I'm left with two options. 1) These guys work for someone entirely separate from Gene/Jake/the dispatcher/Jeffries and therefore didn't know about the car bomb, or 2) the device planted in Part 3 WAS a tracker and there was a car bomb planted elsewhere (the engine?) by some unidentified party.

How did other people interpret that? The sequence played a bit weird to me, although I loved the kid's involvement.

My interpretation is that that the two groups of men were unrelated. The "hitmen," were hired guns who planned to shoot Dougie with a sniper's rifle and, when that failed, planted the magnetic bomb on the car (likely set off by the magnetic field generated by an electric fuel pump in the tank that starts when the car starts).

The other (black car) group were low end car thieves who thought Dougie's car sitting for days at an empty house was an easy target.

The end result may be the hitmen thinking Dougie blew up and leaving him alone from here forward.

Interesting that most scenes in this part consist of characters in their workplaces.

(Not too interesting actually)

Yeah, it was pretty random. I chuckled a bit when I watched it, I'll admit it, but it was really random.

I think it's important to show that Hawk doesn't think the Log's message about his heritage is necessarily related to his ethnicity.

Ok, I did not think about it from that angle. An important clue possibly then.

Following up on the green thing... in the conference room scene, Frank is initially pissed Coop is drinking his coffee but then starts drinking the green tea latte. Despite initial trepidation, he loves it. The escort's name is Jade. The Owl Cave ring Dougie once wore is green. Remind me, what's the significance of the colour green in Twin Peaks?

Edit: The flash across Tony's face also looks green.

Thinking forward to how the Pentagon figures may be led to DougieCoop... it seems most probable that they will be the ones who reach him first (the Pentagon woman going to SD, which introduces her to the ring inside Briggs' body, which leads her to Dougie & Janey-E). Will they interrogate Coop? If they mention Major Briggs by name, what sort of reaction would that cause in his mind? So far, we've only seen his memory briefly stirred by fairly generic words ("case files," "agent," "coffee). Imagine if Major Briggs' name caused a flashback to the "Cooper / Cooper / Cooper" scene in S2! That may bring back a much bigger chunk of our Cooper.

She's married to the man we saw her with in the car scene

I'm with you ThumbsUp.

Sonny just looks tired and sad. Most of the time he doesn't blink. That one time it is just a slow, tired, sad blink. Laura's red room blink was distinctively backwards, not just slow.

Argent also means "money" in French. Not sure why it wouldn't just say ARGENTINA if that's what the meaning was. At first, I thought she just mispelled URGENT.

It means "silver" in French too, right? Silver Mustang maybe? Both money and Argentina make sense in the context of this episode, though.

It's hard keeping up with these core colors. So, Gold, Silver and Green.

Oddly enough, the first thing I thought of was Electrum.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrum

"Electrum is a naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver, with trace amounts of copper and other metals. It has also been produced artificially, and is often known as green gold."

Speaking of gold, I'm really digging those establishing shots of the Sheriff Station with the warm golden rays coming through the trees. Reminds me of this Lynch designed (gold) patch that was given away briefly at SXSW.
