I’d love if it the Dougie Jones world turned out to be a mirror/parallel world as evidenced by the drug addict saying “119” instead of “911” after good Dale left with his *ahem* s*x worker friend in the Jeep. Thoughts?

And the same machine in different rooms first saying 15 (15:00 = 3 PM)then 3, switching to DoppelCoop's car where it's almost 3 o clock. The one which Cooper got sucked into.

This may be a given, but regarding the woman with no eyes; to me, her role, when throwing herself out in "space", was just her showing Coop what he needed to do to get out of the Lodge. Take a "leap" and let the "transformation machine" suck him in.

As with the coffee, looks like he took a big sip there, not a smart thing to do with fresh HOT coffee. That one was a no-brainer to me
dud: controversial opinion coming thru: bobby's moment crying over laura's picture was actually one of the only moments i strongly disliked so far! it felt TOO twin peaks-y, too on the nose, like so little of this show so far feels like the old twin peaks that that moment came off as not being genuine. felt so out of blue and forced that it was jarring to me.
Felt the same. This and Lee's delivery of her backward speech were the two times (out of few) I really cringed.

For the record, I hated HATED the scene with Wally when I saw it last night. No idea how anyone could have found it funny.

So I watched it again, tonight, in isolation, and it's hysterical. Brilliant.

I suspect this show is going to survive very well in rewatches to come.

No offense or anything, but this mentality that artists "owe" their fanbases anything just because they enjoyed their work is simply ludicrous to me. I see it online in a lot of other fanbases these days, and I'm sad to see it echoed in Twin Peaks, a community which I thought was almost above such things. Given how divisive this premier has been though, I guess it shouldn't be surprising. In any case, the fact is that David Lynch & company don't owe you or any of us anything at all, I'm sorry. It is entirely their artistic prerogative to go in whatever direction they please, and in my opinion if they had done a retread of the original series (with the same tone, music, etc) it would have just been lame and uninteresting. It would have just been more "fanservice television," something which is unfortunately getting bigger and bigger nowadays. Instead it's this stunning, original work the likes of which has never and likely will never be seen on TV again, for which I am endlessly grateful.

The new Twin Peaks is going to push the envelope in terms of what the medium of television is capable in precisely the same manner that the original Twin Peaks did, and I could not be happier personally. I hope you and others come around eventually.
This..All of this. That is my inherit problem with something like the Star Wars Prequels. Where everyone shat on George for telling that story, but he countered with you liked the original story and I did that in the same way. Everyone got him for wooden acting and Jar Jar, but the dude is trying to tell the fall of a democracy into a fascist Empire by turning disillusioned people mainly a youth to the dark side. An idea that feels very timely across the planet. We are not even half way done with this and I am enjoying the hell out of it. Lynch doesn't owe me anything. Just having this back and him being passionate about it is good enough for me.
I actually think you are both very rude people, especially Azurite 404. There is absolutely no need at all for such a, imo, rude response and whichever way you quote it or say no offence or say sorry, it's rude. I am not on here to get shot down and it's interesting how you never chose Ross, one of the mods on here to attack who had similar feelings of discontent to me who I quoted. Be brave, attack a mod with a statement such as yours and see what happens. What you don't seem to understand is that in this world people are different and different people have different opinions and feel differently about things. My opinions and feelings are valid. It is not your place to put me right on my opinion. It is not your place at all. So I suggest you don't quote me again, whoever you are.

I haven't gotten around to them in my rewatch yet, but I have a feeling I'll experience something similar with the DroolCoop scenes. They're clearly intended to be comedic, and likely work pretty well on their own, it's just that with the mindset I was (and I suspect a lot of other people were) in after three hours of intense, terrifying, new David Lynch content wasn't very conducive to taking them in as they were intended.

I really hope Naomi's character will be fleshed out more in the upcoming episodes. Too good of an acting talent to just be the stereotypical, frustrated wife.

I don't know if anyone's raised this or not, but considering the black lodge line "Is it future, or is it past?"..is it there some connection between the Dougie we're seeing in Ep3 and 4 and Doug Milford who died of a heart attack in TP with Lana?

On another note, I think it's probably fair to say that "Betty" is Major Brigg's wife, and that she has remnants of information on Project Blue Book (Blue Rose), which Major Briggs had left behind before he was assassinated by "Bad Coop". Bad Coop is probably looking for information on how to leave the lodge permanently; in the interim, he has to possess different souls in order to stay out, i.e., Dougie Milford, New Doug.

FlyingSquirrel wrote:Trying to figure out who "she" is that Gordon and Albert plan to call in. Am I right in remembering that Cooper's mother died when he was relatively young and that he did not have any other close female relatives? If so, the only surviving women I can think of that were especially close to him would be Diane (a possibility, though actually having her on-screen would be shattering one of Twin Peaks's glass ceilings), Annie (unlikely since Heather Graham is known not to be in the cast, so I don't think they'd refer to her without showing her), and Audrey (also possible, but she'd moved on from her infatuation with him by the end of the series, and it sounds like Evil-Cooper skipped town shortly thereafter).
I'm actually betting Diane. Both Gordon and Albert know about her existence and she is the person who knows almost everything about Coop.

Feeling after watching parts 1-4: I loved every second of it. So uncompromising, intensive and beautiful. And I for one really like the way special effects look! They look a bit like Lynch's paintings.

Laura Dern as Diane (a theory I never bought until now) is my guess as to the topic of Albert and Cole's conversation.

Well based on something she let slip on one of the talk shows about Lynch directing her to yell at some tough guys as if she was was the toughest SOB around, I think you may get your wish

Yeah, I felt it was way OTT in a show that has thus far been notable for a less emotional style of acting. I can understand Bobby being shocked and maybe breaking down when the sheriff leaves, but in front of everyone? Nah. Doesn't sit right with me either. It was too much and actually was kind of embarrassing to watch.
