I think it's intentional as well, but hope they do change the tone. The Tamara Preston from the Secret History struck me as a totally different woman than Chrysta Bell's femme fatale.mclusky wrote:Chrysta Bell acts like she's an android in a science fiction themed porn movie.
But after seeing her being sent away by Gordon and Alberts reaction to it, I feel like this might be intentional.

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
Might have been said (probably), but the opening scene of episode 3 reminded me a lot of Rabbits, sonically and because of the banging on the door/appearance of the devilish figure. Loved it. It's truly a piece of art within the series.
Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
A little remark on the AC/DC theory. I think it is the other way around. First the time/slotmachine "drives" on DC current, which would enable Good Coop to transport to Bad Coop via his car cigarette-lighter socket at 3 'o clock. However Naido, the no-eyed girl, managed to changed that by pulling the lever, which turned the machine into AC-current. The lucky Good Coop now ends up "in" Dougie's world/shoes at 15:00 hours; same time other place, so to speak.
Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
Yes, been posted. The signal light on the fender is pre 2006 (as in your picture). Jade's signal lights are circular, below the headlight.NorthwestDreamer wrote:Not sure if it's been posted before but there's no way good Coop has arrived in 2003 if the model of the yellow Jeep Wrangler is anything to go by. The Jeep in the episode is a JK model Wrangler which weren't made by Jeep until 2007 until now. Prior to 2007 Jeep's were TK model from 1997 until 2006 and looked like this:
The interior is even more telling. The distinctive round vents are 2006+, and Jade's are even larger, meaning likely 2010+.

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
I suspect this is CGI. It can be easily done. I have a program called "Crazy Talk" that could produce a shimmering transparent head saying Blue Rose that looked as good as the one in the episode, I suspect the tools that Lynch has at his disposal can do the job even more easily.Mibbler wrote:One thing I think hasn´t been mentioned:
When it is supposed that Lynch could have filmed Don S. Davis saying "Blue Rose", considering he passed away in 2008 and Lynch first considered to return to Twin Peaks in 2012? The only thing that occurs to me is that shot could have been a missing piece of the original series (or FWWM) never used but kept by Lynch to use it someday somehow somewhere...

+ "questions in a World of Blue". Gordon and Albert have lots of questions in that scene.krishnanspace wrote:It doesnt get any Bluerakmonday wrote:the Reflections book makes a point of stating that Lynch actually forbade the use of blue for most things in the original run; someone had gotten a blue briefcase or something and he got pissed and they said he had very very strict rules about the use of blue. So you're not wrong in thinking it has to be intentional.TheGum wrote:What do you think the significance of the shading of the last scene in ep 4 is? It's completely digitally graded blue. Not only is it very clearly intentional but it is completely outside the color palate of TP thus far...

I saw Francis Bacon was discussed as an influence to Lynch a few pages back.
A while ago I saw this painting by Bacon. Red Room, glass box? http://images.tate.org.uk/sites/default ... re1961.jpg

I also wondered about this. "I feel... weird" isn't really the question you would ask after suddenly appearing in the red room for the first time.OrsonWelles wrote:However, his reaction the black lodge was lukewarm at best.
Perhaps he is no stranger?

There are real places that feel that utterly artificial.

I thought he reacted that way because he is an artificial manufactured entity, not a real person. The Brown Lodge wrote:I also wondered about this. This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.
Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
He used previous footage for sure, presumably from the series or FWWM. Maybe by some miracle he had a close up of Briggs saying "Blue Rose", but much more likely they picked another shot where the lips were right. The head shot was rotoscopied (they removed the background it was on) and they composited it over the starry background, with transparency. As simple as that. Very basic VFX.HagbardCeline wrote:Mibbler wrote:One thing I think hasn´t been mentioned:

When Dougie expires and turns into a ball bearing, why does Philip Gerard feel the need to cover his eyes when whatever it is appears and starts to vomit or whatever it does?

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
What was much more amazing to me than the visual is that it REALLY sounds like Don Davis saying "blue rose." Maybe they found audio of him saying each word from old episodes or from other projects over the years?

Re Don Davis:
it wouldn't be hard to find a sound-a-like.
As for the lip movements, distorted as they are (I didn't even recognise his face on my first watch), it would seem quite easy to find an appropriate facial movement sequence.
