It's so amazing and exciting that Lynch & Frost found a way to include characters, even though their actors have passed away or they weren't involved. I sure hope that Pete Martell will be somehow mentioned at some point. And others too.
This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.

Don Davis definitely said "blue" several times (project blue book) - he only needs to have been recorded at some point saying "arose", "grows", "throes" or any one of a dozen similar words for them to get the other snippet. Or, yeah, a soundalike.

Lynch is nothing if not extremely loyal to his colleagues. I think we'll get tributes to every major deceased player over the course of the series, even if it's just stock footage, a photograph, etc.

All I want is some good Pete closure. He was by far one of my favorite characters of all time. I really think I miss him the most.

I also appreciate the tributes to cast members who have passed away.

I have a small question. When Gordon Cole visits Denise, he's ushered in by Bill Kennedy (played by Richard Chamberlain). Gordon asks Bill about Martha and trouble with Paul, and Bill replies something about the North Pole. The NY Times review seemed to "get" this reference, without explaining it. I don't get it. Can someone explain?

I thought it was just a hysterical Lynchian non sequitir -- probably my favorite piece of comedic dialogue in the show thus far. Just random and enigmatic.

Has anyone checked this? I thought the sounds were very similar.

I also wondered about this. "I feel... weird" isn't really the question you would ask after suddenly appearing in the red room for the first time.

Perhaps he is no stranger?
I thought he reacted that way because he is an artificial manufactured entity, not a real person.
I thought it was because he's supposed to be dumb as a brick.

Cool, Harry! My middle name has no period after it: Harry S Truman. For the past couple decades, I've used this handle online in various forums. :)

You're probably right. I loved it too!

Gordon Cole: “Martha ever fix that thing with Paul?,”
Kennedy replies that Paul’s at the North Pole.
Gordon: “Well there ya go!”

It's at least partially a satire of the kind of empty-headed suburbanite Dougie is. That's why many of Lynch's characters come off flat or even unrealistic -- these kind of fake people exist.

We shouldn't usually ask why a character behaves illogically in a Lynch film. It's because they're that kind of person.

Lynch's fabulism, in this way, is more realistic than what many viewers consider to be realism.

The Billionaire behind the glass box is Mr C, when he left the lodge Bad Coop had the same ability to win money as Good Coop. Bad Coop being a billionaire is the reason why he states he "doesn't need anything" but only "wants things".
I also belive this to be the case.

I still can't believe how good S3 is so far, Lynch really pulled it off. When I first saw the Wally scene I was kinda angry for the time they have wasted with it (I find myself looking at the remaining time a few times while watching episodes, because I know they are over too quick), but when I was watching it the second time, it's incredible funny.

I have seen it 6-8 times so far and I love that character and it's portrayal. Michael Cera is very good. It's so hilarious. That smug face. That monologue. And also funny the repeating movements of Andy. It's kinda like a video game, where the other characters loop their animations... this is artistic on so many levels, man whatta show.

The wait was well worth it.

Seconded. Dougie is portrayed as a sad sack moron to enable suspension of disbelief for Cooper's arc in the real world, not that it matters a great deal. It's not The Wire. But still, it's considerate.

It's clever writing. We know that Dougie is both a) so oblivious that the Red Room goes over his head and b) very sexually active (escort visit) and defines himself by it (number plate). I can buy that he snagged Janey-E through hyper sex drive and dumb-assed charm.

Have we discussed why Coop's FBI pin is missing when he enters Dougie's world? It's really bugging me.
