Bobby's totally the catalyst fro the drug epidemic in TP. Called it.
Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
Yeah, I figured it was just a stylistic choice as I don't think the numbers on the vault correlate with the number in FWWM.The Archivist wrote:The same font was used in Mulholland Drive, for the house numbers if I remember correctly. Lynch must really love that fontopium wrote:Not sure if anyone brought this up, but the numbers on the vault that Cooper approaches in Part 3 looks exactly like the number(s) on the electrical poles in FWWM when Coop investigates Carl Rodd's trailer park. I suspect it has little to do with anything except being a reference but I thought it was kind of a cool physical connection between the two worlds.
Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
Hi all!
First time poster, delighted to have such a great source of theories/discussion about Twin Peaks: it wasnt like this when I watched the original series!
I haven't got through all of this thread, but has anyone noticed that in the starting credits, there is a white light (like the sun seen through mist) over the image of the trees, which then overlays on top of Laura's right eye? Weren't the two women (librarian and school principals wife) shot in the right eye also? Going back to the original series, wasn't it Laura's right eye that showed the reflection of Jame's harley? I don't know if this has any meaning or just coincidence.
Where the D-o-M lives and Dougie goes with his (ahem!) "friend", is looks like an unfinished/partially finished estate: a ghost estate/Ghostwood estate?
I think Dr Jacoby might be selling the golden shovels online: as someone else pointed out, literally Gold-diggers. Seems to me like the kind of hippy stuff Jacoby would like?
As Dougie is entering the casino, you can see the yellow Jeep Wrangler coming back to the front of the casino. A new john to collect, or just a continuity mistake?
It's great to see the old cast again: Shelley is as beautiful as ever: I can't wait to see Norma . She was my favourite from the original show, I always felt so sorry for her, and Peggy Lipton played her so well.
I'm going to watch episode 5 this afternoon, see you all on the flip side!

The white light is an optical effect that comes from the point of view of the shot called a glory. The point about the placement is interesting.Clinkers wrote:Hi all!

I think Jade's Wrangler coming back is just a reflection in the window of her going through the horseshoe shaped driveway and means nothing.
Stay tuned for the story on the shovels!
Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
Look closely at the real estate signs. They suggest a post housing-crash timeframe, as many of them indicate "bank owned." Las Vegas was the city most impacted by the housing crash, so it all fits. It appears that Jade was a real estate agent, now working as a prostitute (perhaps to make ends meet until the market recovers). Her attire and friendly personality fits with this. She had a realtor key to access the key box and gain access to the house for "meetings with her clients." There really wasn't much of a sense of urgency, as every house on the street was for sale and owned by a bank and there were no buyers. DOM is likely living in the house across the street at extremely low rent (if any) while the owner waits for the bank to foreclose.Clinkers wrote: Where the D-o-M lives and Dougie goes with his (ahem!) Ha, I was getting close! Love your theory about the estate, seems to fit perfectly.

I searched the thread to see if this had been talked about, and only found this...OneEyedJack wrote:
One of my fave shots of this new series is after One Armed Mike grabs the ring from Dougie and then the camera slowly pans to the pedestal and he places the ring on it. Remember that camera shot?
It was the same camera shot and pedestal where Cooper says to Laura "don't take the ring, Laura...." EDIT: IN FWWM movie
Something to think about since there aren't 5000 other things to discuss....
I've just re-watched Part 3, made the connection with the shot in FWWM, and re-watched that part of FWWM.
In that shot in FWWM, TMFAP says "This is the ring. Is it future or is it past?"
Watching both scenes together I have the feeling that the scene in Part 3 happens BEFORE the one in FWWM (in that warped time inside the black lodge). MIKE gets the ring from Dougie, puts it on the table, and then TMFAP picks it up from the table and Cooper warns Laura to not take the ring.

In "the end", though, Annie-non-existent gets the ring. Might not count, though, it's from missing pieces.

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
By the time Lynch edited what he wanted to keep from the deleted scenes into TMP, he and Frost had already started talking about S3.4815162342 wrote:In "the end", though, Annie-non-existent gets the ring. Might not count, though, it's from missing pieces.
It's safe to say TMP is canonical. ALSO a safe bet that Lynch and Frost had TMP in mind when they wrote S3.
Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
i agree, The Missing Pieces has proved to be canonical as its the only place we learn about the Buenos Aires connection prior to Season 3crash_and_burn wrote:By the time Lynch edited what he wanted to keep from the deleted scenes into TMP, he and Frost had already started talking about S3.4815162342 wrote:In "the end", though, Annie-non-existent gets the ring. Has anyone noticed how DoppelCooper's line "I've never really left home" recalls the LMFAP's "You are here and there is no place to go, BUT HOME!"?
