Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
Has anyone considered that Richard Horne might be the child of either:
A. Audrey & John Justice Wheeler?
or, as wacky as this seems (remember its Lynch we're talking about here)
B. ???????

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
Yes, that is whacky. But yes, it is Lynch we're talking about here.
Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
I thought the bottle this time was Even Williams (http://evanwilliams.com/), which looks quite similar to Jack D., Even Williams is (in my opinion) a definite step down from Bulleit and I can understand the face he made...Framed_Angel wrote:Very minor detail but one I appreciated: Ike the Spike in his first motel appearance some time ago, it was Bulleit bourbon bottle seen on the dresser as he did shots from it. I'm partial to Bulleit myself and, don't care for Wild Turkey or Jim Beam or others since trying it.
Tonight: instead it was Jack Daniels on the dresser. And Ike made this *face* after taking a swig. It cracked me up.
Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
I don't know about you, but the lyrics remind me of Dougie and TP:
Oceans shape the sides
Touching down in the spaces
Soaking from a warm goodbye
An early rise offers kindly
Tonight I sleep to dream
Of a place that's calling me
It is always just a dream
Still I cannot forget what I have seen
The crowd's hard to believe
At their faces I'm looking
But your feet I'm following
In soft steps on a path the way you lead
I don't want to lose myself
It's a whisper
It's a funny thing
We fold like icicles on paper shelves
It's a pity to appear this way
You're flying when your foreign eyes
Trace the heights of the city
Steaming
With rocks and clouds we breathe
Violent skies
A shock to my own body
Speech is wild
Alive sacred and sounding
Wild
From across and beyond, oh far beyond
I don't want to lose myself
It's a whisper
It's a funny thing
We fold like icicles on paper shelves
It's a pity to appear this way
Hold, hold, hold on
I swear I saw it somewhere
Waving, wading, one, two, three, above the wakes that follow
Hold, hold, hold on
I swear I saw it somewhere
Waving, wading, one, two, three, above the wakes that follow
I don't want to lose myself

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
Welp, there goes my theory about Tim Roth being Phillip Jeffries!!
Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
I am now starting to wonder if Johnny Horne is another DougieCoop who's never managed to "find his true self" again?...

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
My first thought was the 'so many people' were the woodsmen from episode 8.HagbardCeline wrote:Hastings' secretary was killed by the car bomb installed by "Jack" wasn't she? DoppleCoop then says kills Jack by giving him a face massage. The car-bomb plot seems totally set up by DoppleCoop and his bunch.dud wrote:thoughts / questions:
1. Who killed Hasting's secretary, Phillip? not bad coop, he wanted the coordinates from her. does this mean Phillip has the coordinates?
2a. So Duncan Todd works for bad coop? guess that makes more sense than Jefferies, but for some reason i was thinking Jefferies till this episode
2b. What if he works for BOTH of them and is betraying one of them? maybe that's why he seems so agitated all the time!
Hastings gets so rambly that I can't quite put the events in order. The way he tells it, they find hibernating Briggs. He asks them to get the coordinates from the military computer. Then he goes right into someone throwing him down and asking him his wife's name. It *seems* to be DoppleCoop since he apparently bangs her or gets *her* to do something he wants (based on her reaction to seeing him) then he initiates the plot to have her killed with her boyfriend's gun AND ALSO the voice on the box says that DoppleCoop had been to see Major Briggs.
BUT after Hastings tells this part, he tells about going to get the coordinates from the computer, at which time Hasting's secretary must have gotten them too? Then Ruth writes them on her hand and they go back to Briggs and tell him the coordinates, and when he hears them, he floats into the air and his head detaches and disappears, but then someone kills Ruth (there were so many people there!) and he cradles her as she dies. Who kills Ruth is more my question, and if she had the numbers written on her hand, it must not have been DoppleCoop or Ray/Daria who killed her, because none of them have the coordinates until Ray gets them from the secretary.

Re: Johnny and Jerry
My interpretation is that BOB is on the loose. EvilCoop is running BOB-less now, and BOB needs a host. BOB went back to familiar territory and found Johnny. Bad choice, Johnny couldn't handle BOB and "got him out" using the usual method. BOB found a new home in Jerry, and is talking through his foot (instead of an arm).
Way out there, but who knows?
BTW, captions actually helped since it started off with "Sylvia:". We braced ourselves for a Johnny sighting and were able to absorb the scene better.
BTW2, the other picture next to Johnny shows president Eisenhower. President in 1956. Just sayin'.
Oh, and what's with 1997 suddenly becoming important? Dougie's manufacture date, and Bill Hasting's web master apparently still lives in '97!

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
I assumed "so many people" were the Woodsmen or the black hobos- if they're not one and the same, which they probably are.
I do think Briggs soul went to the White Lodge with those coordinates, and that's what the Bad Dale wants access to. It is in our house now.

Couple of things, really.BEARisonFord wrote:but... why?AJPRR2GO wrote:I am now starting to wonder if Johnny Horne is another DougieCoop who's never managed to "find his true self" again?...
Jacoby telling Sylvia in the original series about how he was "choosing to be this way" , or words to that effect.
Maybe him running in to the wall was similar to how Coop was trying to get out of the lodge with the contraption on the wall in the purple room.
Head trauma is a thing with Johnny. Banging it constantly in season 1. Maybe he's just trying to unlock what's in there himself.

I also had a hard time finding the coordinates on the web site. They are rendered (for me at least) in black text on a blue background. If you highlight the text, it reverses the colors and it is more visible. Here's a screenshot for the record:

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
Did anyone else got a Mickey and Mallory vibe from Chantal and her husband?
Jerry Horne might be my favorite thing in this ep lol
Poor Johnny and Sylvia. I hope we see more of them.
Is Bad Cooper messing with Diane's phone or is she an accomplice? I'm voting for the former.
Is Bobby gonna get emotional every time we take a stroll down memory lane?
Love that Major Briggs has some kind of importance this season tho
Not a fan of Matthew Lillard's acting in this episode. The crying was too forced, I thought he was faking at first.
And the Lucy and Andy scene was terrible. What happened to the characters?
VERY HAPPY Au Revoir Simone is back. My favorite new band so far.
