Possibly the best yet. Anyone that complains over this episode can get to fuck.

Quieter episode? It was full with noise! So much going on!Jonah wrote:Just finished watching.
Initial impressions.
For the first time, I liked some non-TP set scenes more than the TP-set scenes.
I'm loving the Mitchums now - and those final scenes with them and Coop were sublime. We even get to see the old woman from the casino again.
Great to see a cherry pie taking center stage. And dreams!
Does Norma ever leave that booth? Oh, she does once to go behind the counter. I really wish she was being given more to do.
I'm not sure what to think of Shelly. Clearly she and Bobby are long separated.
The whole Becky saga doesn't really interest me. Nice to see Gersten Hayward (Alicia Witt) again, albeit briefly.
I didn't like the scene with Bobby and the woman at the car and the sick kid. Nor the kid who shot up the Double R. These scenes just felt really hollow and weird. I think they're being used to show how messed up the world of Twin Peaks has become.
Lot of Cole/Albert/Diane. And they all can see the woodsmen.
Another Log Lady call, and another map (reminds me of the Owl Cave map).
Who's that deputy, Jessie? Seems to be an innocent.
Not sure about the Candie-is-Laura-Palmer's-Dougie but could be. There's definitely something up with her, just can't tell if it's a quirk or going to be relevant.
Really loving the Mitchums/Coop dynamic. Will they be the ones to bring him to Twin Peaks? With Candie too? That might be very interesting.
Seems the one-armed man and the lodge are manipulating a lot of things - including the Mitchums dream.
And we get confirmation that the Bushnell poster is Don Murray's character when he was younger?
All in all, this felt like a quieter episode. I liked those last few scenes in Vegas a lot more than I liked the TP stuff this time around.

Could be.Burns's Suite wrote:So just a theory I'll throw out there... Does anyone else believe that in FWWM Chet Desmond may have been pulled into through one of those portals after finding the ring like Gordon almost was? Heck, I wouldn't even rule out the possibility that one of these portals existed at "Judy's in Seattle" and been how Jeffries ended up at the meeting above the convenience store.
I think Gordon wasn't reaching for anything, he was about to be sucked in a portal. There is a similarity to part 8, in the mushroom cloud, it looks like there's these wormhole like tunnels.

I noted the time, and then the mention that they'd be meeting Dougie in three hours, which if you took to be exact would be 5:23 - not entirely dissimilar to the 2:53... time and time again...pvilmur wrote:Anyone catch the potentially coded numbers in "2240 Sycamore" and the "2:23" on the Mitchum brothers' clock? Both are similar to the date of Laura's death, Feb 24 (2-24). May be nothing but could be something.

If Cooper woke up at the end, that'd probably been the best ever episode. Certainly in the top 3.

Well, I did think the way she just ran to Red when called to by him was very strange.Wonderful & Strange wrote:I do believe that Shelly has just never grown up. High school drop out, works her entire life at a cafe, and has bad taste in bad men. Nothing magical here.
Before we think of magic, we ought to ask if she's acting out of character. Not really, no.
But then again, I had that happen to me once when I went to a bar with a lady friend of mine, and I am pretty sure she wasn't under a magical spell. Actually, watching that scene last night brought back feelings of how I felt that night. It feels pretty lousy when someone you are talking to and have an interest in just suddenly forgets you are there and becomes 'enchanted' with someone else
F*&^ you Gene Kelly
Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)
Up until now, the Mitchum Brothers have grated on me a little. I can't even put my finger on why. But after this episode, even from the first moments of the breakfast (well, lunch!) scene, I knew I'd start to love them. Now I totally do. Knepper and Belushi's chemistry is absolutely brilliant.
Another favourite episode for me. So many good things to say about it. One gripe, and someone else vocalised this in the thread, and my apologies for not giving credit where it's due, but people's sudden recollections in the station scene: Diane suddenly remembering that she saw a creepy old geezer get out of the police car, followed by Cole's sudden "Oh yes! I saw a room FULL of them!". It felt very awkward, and on the nose. But that's about it. Other than that I loved it! in my top 3 for sure.

I like the way they show connections to some important things. But the question is - does Copper see them? Golden ring + emerald, King Arthur theme.

Thank God! I've been slowly making my way through over 15 pages of comments and was surprised no-one else mentioned Excaliber. I didn't notice the gold ring though - not sure I'd have made a connection even if I had. But Excaliber definitely jumped out.Mario Stein wrote:I like the way they show connections to some important things. But the question is - does Copper see them? I'm wondering if that has any significance to what else happens in this episode. I guess they are sitting at a round table. Is Candie, or the lady from the casino his Lady In The Lake?

A perfect answer (or interpretation) as to what was going on w/ Bobby & Shelly, courtesy of THE A.V. CLIB write up of last night's part:
"The family Bobby encounters at the intersection near the Double R is another reminder of how patterns of behavior pass down from generation to generation, as Bobby’s meaningful glance from the posturing child in the camo jacket to the posturing father in the camo jacket reinforces. And Shelly’s giddy embrace of Red shows that some people keep making the same old mistakes, following the same dangerous path, year after year."

Those and the 911 switchboard scene. 2 days left, getting close to a time opening, its affecting the area.djsunyc wrote:so the gunshot and the kid throwing up in the car - these are all signs evil is either coming or existing in twin peaks.
