I just looked again and you don't see her arm when she's looking in the mirror. Is the tattoo seen at some other time?

When she was dancing she did seem to have a bruise on her left arm... but couldn't see a tattoo

I haven't checked her arm in Part 16, but I noticed something that looked like a bruise on her arm in Part 13 as well. It's exactly at the same spot where Sherilyn's tattoo of the om symbol is, so I think they just did a bad job of covering her tattoo. The tattoo on Audrey's arm was visible in one of the official episode stills for Part 13 (and also in the stills for Part 16), but it seems her tattoo was covered for the shooting of the actual scenes in Part 13, so I don't think Audrey is supposed to have a tattoo at her arm. And even if she has a tattoo there in Part 16, it's the om symbol, not an owl cave tattoo.

Anyway, I just loved the episode!

I don't think Audrey is in coma, i think it is in a mental istitution. That is why sheriff truman went talk to ben wjen richard went on the run.

Everything was great, but where is Laura? Come on, i am waiting her since episode 2 :(

I found this little thing, just sharing for fun. Many people here have great theories :)

The Naido Diane one is great

Btw, the Silver Mustang Casino Logo is photoshopped-in so bad, it goes perfectly with the Diane black-smoke scene. Richard's disapperaing effects were top-notch though, Diane's vanishing scene as well ;)

Update: the more I look at it, it seems they forgot to "bend" the logo into it's place... hahahaha

About the Diane/Naido connection:

The "I'm in the Sheriff's station" made me think of Naido as well. But how can Naido and Diane be original and tulpa? Doesn't the tulpa always look like the original? Cooper, DoppelCooper and Dougie all looked the same and the three Lois Duffy's also looked the same. The original Diane must have looked the same as TulpaDiane, or else Gordon and Albert wouldn't have recognized her as Diane. Moreover, if tulpas can look different from the original, anyone could be anyone's tulpa.

I haven't read past page 16 of this thread yet, but does anyone think "Billy" is Billy Zane? A dreamlike meta way for Audrey to pine for the one she loves wherever she has been trapped?

Best. Part. Ever.

This was absolutely brilliant. Even while I was watching, I was hoping that this episode would never end. So many great scenes, neither cheesy nor rushed, but genuinely emotional.

So we have seen now that some of the "crazy" hypotheses about Twin Peaks reality got their confirmation:
Richard was the son of Mr. C and Audrey, presumably an outcome of a comatose Audrey getting raped. It's not a pretty scenario, but all the hints pointed in that direction.

Audrey is not living in reality. She is either still comatose or has awoken at some point in the past, but never fully regained her mental faculties. Until now, perhaps. I like how even that single scene was setup to subvert itself. Seeing Audrey and Charlie finally outside of that house seemed to indicate that they do indeed move around in real Twin Peaks. And then the MC calls for "Audrey's Dance"...

Dale did wake up after another prodding of electricity. I wasn't sure if Kyle MacLachlan could still pull off the character of the old Cooper, but boy was I wrong! Seeing that effortlessly authoritative manner and lighting quick thinking back onscreen was a fantastic pay-off. Perhaps it's fan service, but it's so great nonetheless. The "I am the FBI" line is obviously an instant classic that it was setup to be.

Diane always seemed "wrong". That's not a person, in any way, shape or form, that the real Dale Cooper would confide in even at a professional level. When speaking into the dictaphone in S1/S2, Cooper always sounded like talking to someone who is his intellectual and moral peer. Someone who would understand him and not tell him to "**ck" himself without the slightest provocation. It seems now that the Doppelgangers created in the past were flawed copies of real humans. Dougie was a poor substitute for Dale: a semi-successful insurance salesman with a gambling problem and a propensity for prostitutes. Diane's copy was no longer able to function as an FBI agent and she slipped into an obscure life of alcoholism and promiscuity. Cooper has asked Mike to create another copy of him. I sure hope their Doppelganger factory has made a few upgrades in recent years.

There is so much left to unpack... I don't know if there is enough time before the finale.

All the tulpas seem to have sex/substance issues

But wasn't Dopplecooper "created" when Cooper entered the lodge with "imperfect courage?

Cooper didn't enter the Lodge with imperfect courage.

If he did then the Lodge would have completely annihilated his soul.

I'm not sure we have to take that literally. It could have just been a metaphor for being used as a vessel for a Black Lodge spirit and/or having a doppelganger of yourself created.

It does seem like at least one of two things - agreeing to give his soul to Earle or running from the doppelganger - was the cause of what happened to Cooper. That's one thing I don't especially like about how all this has played out so far. I wanted to see him figure out what he did wrong and somehow atone for it, whereas it seems instead like he was always going to be released after 25 years no matter what.

I had assumed, even before it became clear that Diane was somehow compromised, that her cynicism and abrasive personality was partly a result of what happened between her and DoppelCooper. I suspect that she *was* the kind of person you suggest - an intellectual and moral peer - and that being raped by (in her mind) the man she trusted and cared for might well have turned her into this hardened, cynical person. Since the tulpa was created shortly after the rape took place, I can see how that side of her personality would be especially accentuated, and most likely Gordon and Albert have some idea what happened and thus aren't too surprised by her behavior.

Dreamy Audrey wrote:Did the man who was throwing the bottle at the other man in the Roadhouse after Audrey's dance call him "Barney"? In Part 1, Marjorie Green said that the manager of Ruth Davenport's apartment is called Barney and "Barney's not here. He's a funny one, that Barney. He's in the hospital, not the regular hospital." It sounded to me like she was saying he was crazy, and later we had a few "nuthouse" references in Part 14 (Chad said about the man who was bleeding from his mouth "Fucking nuthouse" and Sophie said to Tina's daughter: "That's because you're hanging out at the nuthouse.") If characters who are connected to Audrey are crazy/in a nuthouse, does that confirm the theory that Audrey is in a mental institution?

Haha, now that would be great. In the end see and zoom out and show all these characters in a mental institution claiming to be these characters and acting as their side persons at times. I'd applaud Lynch and everyone for doing that. :D

ps. Nicely putting stuff together on that one for that theory. That would still work around the Jungian philosophy and the human psyche, consciousness, personalities, nightmares and the beauty of it all within us. We'll see in one week. :)

Well, Richard was on a big stone...

Also, I agree with the poster before, it looks almost like the chess motif is reused, with The Experiment on one side and The Fireman on the other, with all the players being slotted into their respective places ready for Ragnarok.

So has this redeemed the series for you? Or at least the delayed gratification of seeing Dale?

So Mr. C didn't manufacture Dougie, right? Coop did? That's what I now figure... why else would Coop know how to make tulpas, and why else would Janey-E be related to Diane?

Aside from James of course, but that's a bit of a different situation
