There are fewer than five hours left to vote in the poll covering reactions to The Return, parts 1-16!
If you haven't voted, please do so.
It's easy and quick.
The poll will lock before the debut of parts 17 & 18.

Just pre-ordered the OST, releasing on Sept. 8th. Hopefully a Blu-Ray set will turn up soon as well... Then Shwotime will see, what money can be made ;)
I've pre-ordered both soundtracks and will get the blu-ray etc. I'll do all I can....but is it enough?
It's not entirely about the money. Maybe Mark Frost and David Lynch don't want to continue it?
Based upon all of the available evidence, it seems that Frost is open to it, and Lynch is very into it if The Return is well received as a whole.

The other day someone posted this interview with Sherilyn Fenn from September 1st, wherein she stated that "He [David Lynch] said if people loved it he would do another one, and the hardest part is just sitting down and writing it."

That's only the most recent comment of which I'm aware. I posted a collection of similar comments here:

None of this is to say that I personally believe that there will be another installment of Twin Peaks. I have no idea, but I do think that a good reception would motivate Lynch to do it, and the primary question is whether Showtime would be willing to fund it. That said, I have no idea what metric Lynch would use to decide whether it had a good reception. Hopefully not live viewing numbers in the United States! Despite some dissent, fans and critics have overwhelmingly given The Return a big thumbs up, and the show has given Showtime its biggest ever boost in streaming subscriptions.

Returning to the question of Showtime's willingness to fund more Twin Peaks, it's interesting that Showtime CEO David Nevins very recently responded to a question of the possibility of alternative cuts of The Return (say, on a Blu Ray) by saying that he'd definitely fund it, but didn't think Lynch would do something like that. Nevins also added that the only thing he'd have done differently with The Return would be to have given David Lynch the budget that he wanted "three weeks earlier".

Na I get what you are saying. But you aren't looking at the big picture
No, you aren't.

Do you seriously believe Lynch - who is historically fond of janky, weird and anachronistic, obviously fake FX in many pieces of his work - would blow the bulk of the budget on one episode and then struggle to finish the edit on the rest, when they knew for years in advance the amount of FX work this show would require? Or it is just possible that David Lynch actually decided he wanted a certain immersive effect for one tier of FX in the story, and a deliberately artificial and bizarre look for other elements (as he has done often in the past)?

Why are you resistant to that? Or does the thought that Lynch could've chosen this personally offend you?
Ok we'll just tell me this. How much do you think the special effects with that same imagery used in the short posted upthread were determined by the cost?
Oy, I'll give you the same answer others already did: Not at all. Lynch loves those type of effects. You find that unacceptable. That's your problem. Get over it.

Enjoy the finale!

I think the Audrey thread is done. They've confirmed that it wasn't real by showing the audience her "awakening" in the mirror. I doubt there is anywhere else for that story to go (unless she sinks back into dreamland and argues with Charlie some more).
There might be the little matter of where exactly she is, in that room with the mirror, and what's happened to her all this years, and what happened between her and Evil Coop. I'm going to go out on a limp and guess that Frost and Lynch do actually have something left to say about that, but we'll see tomorrow.
You may be right. OTOH, I think we've already been "told" that Mr. C raped her when she was in the ICU in a coma and that she is now in a white room (asylum or similar) where she has been in dreamy land (coma or nuts) for a long time. Those "nut house" references are likely not coincidence. Not sure what else we can learn at this point. Sure, they could show a few minutes of the real coop checking in on her in her now awakened state with a feel good ending (like Ed and Norma), but I'm doubting it.
I thought the time before this one was the last time I was going to try to predict where Lynch was going to go with something.

Sabrina got back to me on the Cooper age issue. It definitely seems to be a simple continuity mistake (which I won't be telling her haha), which is further emphasized by the case file picture I posted during the marathon. Just thought you guys would like to see!

But this will invalidate the theory that EVERY continuity error was put into place as part of the grand design, because time is folding in on itself!!! Like DougieCoop swindling the casino for more money each time he goes through his infinite loop, that greedy bastard!

Which I hope you realize is totally inaccurate LOL, even though she didn't realize it. Just confirming it's a simple continuity mistake!

I know, that's why I used that Smilie. Actually, her whole statement is wrong, not just the last part about Cooper. She says that saying that someone is 25 years older than another person means the first person is 25 years old :D But it doesn't really tell us anything about Richard's age, only about the age gap between Richard and Cooper, which in this case would always be 25 years, even if Richard was 30 or 40. Funny, how she doesn't see this and how no one else on production noticed the mistake.
