Yep! Freddie is ok as a character and I wish him no particular ill, but that subversion of expectations would have been much more satisfying than what we got.

Even if it has been mentioned, I haven't come across it yet, so thanks!

Watching all the parts again in light (or darkness?) of the finale will no doubt draw out lots of things like this. Can't wait for the hard copy release so I can play with it.
As a matter of fact, 'Chalfont' was the name of the people that rented this space before. Two Chalfonts. Weird, huh?

I do get why Julee Cruise was disappointed. That song lasts 6 minutes, about the same as Rebekah Del Rio's song. And it's probably cut after two and a half. Weird.

Laura meeting Cooper in the woods and replying "home" when she asked where they were going:
Since 6 oct 2014, I have been wondereing if there was going to be anything in this new series that would spark some nostalgia. This scene threw me right back being 15 years old, tears out of control and I got all the emotional payoff I've been waiting for all summer. With Carrie Paige' scream in the last scene, I also got the exact kind of mystery I wanted in the end too.

wouldn't it have taken a lot of the momentum we had in watching ep. 17 and 18 to have a 25 year old song put us on hold for 6 minutes though?
i thought it felt about the right length (2.5 minutes) to take in the power of the song in the context of what we've just seen [the fade in from the woods to Julee and the band was beautiful and the best cut-to-Roadhouse] while giving us a breather before the final.

had they not ran 17 and 18 as a two-parter i think it would have made more sense to let the entire Julee song play.

In my opinion Julee should feel honored Lynch used her song and her image again...he could have left her out. Its Lynch's Twin Peaks, not hers. Plus as others have said it was done beautifully. She got the last billing the curtain call.

i agree.. if that's what she is pissed off at then it's fucking petty as hell. might be some other stuff behind the scenes though, who knows.

It's true I have no clue what its all about between them. My guess is Julee recorded a new version of the same song. And Lynch liked the original sound more. Thus insulting her new voice. But that is just my guess.

that might be it.. in an interview with Johnny Jewel that was posted a few days ago he said it was the Chromatics being Julee's backing band at The Roadhouse and the way he talked about it it made it sound like there was a version recorded with them that they played to (a 6:30 minutes long version or something like that)

So did Albert at least tell Bobby that they found his father's body and that he hadn't actually died all those years ago? Would Albert have even recognized Bobby? Bobby probably still would have recognized Albert and maybe Cole.

What did Tammy and Albert do after that? Just take the FBI jet back home? Did they have to wait for Cole to return from the Great Northern? I like to think that Frank Truman took Albert to visit Harry Truman to cheer him up.

That reality might be shattered for all we know. No point worrying about those things until the Final Dossier at least.

Then why is she taking it as an intentional slap in the face?

Because Julee Cruise is eccentric and had an unrealistic expectation for her screen time.

I know what you'll say: 'but Eddie Vedder!' I don't care. This is the finale, she should have expected to be cut down, as several were before. The point is her placement was very important to Lynch. Same as Sheryl Lee. It's not the airtime, it's the significance.

I actually like it with the credits rolling but I don't know I think the band stuff Is dumb

I think it's interesting that Laura screams and flees from James who was trying to take her home, then turns around and does the same thing with Cooper (although Cooper was taking her to a different kind of "home"). We assume that something snatched her away here and in part 2, but maybe she was just strongly compelled to leave his company. Maybe she knew he couldn't understand her, much like James, and wanted to spare him exposure to her own private hell.

There has been much speculation over the motivation of Mr. C throughout this season -- what is his goal, where is he going, and why.

It's worth pointing out that when Mr. C showed the modified ace-of-spades playing card to Darya early on in this season he indicated that it was something he wanted. For the record, I'm fine with never finding out what the symbol on the playing card represents. I will suggest, however, the following: given that the portal near Jack Rabbit's Palace had been seemingly calibrated by him to lead to the Palmer house (before Fireman adjusts it to lead to the Sheriff's Station) it is not unreasonable to associate whatever the playing card represents with the Palmer house -- or resident(s) therein. Without even having to mention Judy at all, we can guess that whatever darkness lies behind Sarah's face and in her inhuman wails has some connection with the playing card symbol that also appears on Hawk's living map. We don't know why Mr. C wanted to find it or what he intended to do once he had found it, but we at least know where he was headed and how the thing he was after was symbolised, and that is something.

Kyle was very creepy in that scene, almost molester-y. "Hey kid, have a look at this smut" kind of thing. Quite chilling for me!

(I'm drunk, sorry I don't have more to add)
