Aaaand, just like that, overnight shipping is no longer an option, even on new orders. Wonder if that was a mistake on Amazon's part.

It's kind of fascinating that my Norwegian provider a couple of days ago e-mailed me that I will get my copy on Monday, while many of you Americans(?) with your Amazon orders might get it later. This is not how the world should be. Still,

For Amazon preorders, at least in the US, it's standard practice to ship the product at the exact right time so that it arrives on your doorstep on the actual street date. That can get it to some people a day early or a day late sometimes, but it's usually pretty accurate.

I upgraded my Amazon order to the one-day shipping, and Amazon claims my book has shipped and will arrive tomorrow.

Oddly, my friend who has had the book on preorder with two-day delivery received an email saying that the release has changed and ETA is now 10/20.

yep, just got that. I'm in Australia so I'm not going to read it for ages. Luckily I just found a surprise fete for old age pensioners, and have David Niven's bawdy memoir to tie me over.

Are there any better options than Amazon at this point? Cancelling is an easy option.

Oh yeah- me too. I drove to the nearest B&N but they didn't have it available yet.

As for Amazon- I got a shipping notice saying I should get it Monday.
