Twin Peaks is definitely inspired from this movie.It came out in 1950

Yes. Creature, although often misunderstood as "a living animal" in much of science fiction, simply means "a created thing."

Is this a leak of some Italian comic tie-in merchandise?

I'm sorry if this Windom Earle quote was previously pointed out...

When he's telling the story of the Black Lodge in his cabin:

Could this be sort of a key to understand the incoherences on TSHOTP??

It does mean 'being' in this context, it's not referring to the ring but to whatever creature was wearing it.
As a fellow Italian user posted last week or so, these come from an unrelated comic by Italian publisher Bonelli. It's not actually set in the Twin Peaks 'verse, just a... very... heavy... reference, remixing a bunch of names, places and symbols.
