Yes, that exactly my problem with this documentary, what the point to ask Kimmy opinion about the second season, when everybody already know that she hate everything, except the 1st season, about TP (the second season and the movie) ? that very obvious that Laurizika give his own opinion, with the editing, and impose that trough her, I mean we don't have another opinions except Kimmy, if I remember correctly, the others members of the crews talk more about some problems, but not the quality itself of the second seasons, so Kimmy was basically the one who have given her opinion and without more explanation, simply "that suck".

What I dislike too, it's how he have presented Kyle M. more or less like a "liar" about the real reason he was opposed to Audrey/Cooper audience (I believe he is honest), it was not respectful for the main actor of the show; I mean what the point to do a documentary for a DVD (we don't talk about gossip tv show); if you hate the second season aka the 2/3 of TP; I like the honest answers, and various opinions from the crew, positive or not, but not to the point to be insensitive and obnoxious.

For FWMM, that simply my favorite David Lynch movie with Inland Empire, it's for that I really hesitate to buy that, maybe I will wait for another blue-ray in few years, I don't know yet.

For Frost/Lynch, I guess that a mix of your examples (popularity of Lynch etc..), but I think the focus in this blue-ray about FWMM, seem to place Lynch in the center of these interviews; but I would have liked to have Frost opinion about the movies, the sequels and a potential third season (and what their original plan).

Except that I'm agree with you, Laura was the center and the heart of TP; like Lynch itself have already said, to reveal the killer have killed the show for the audience, I think like in the movie, they should have continue to explore her past with the investigation of Dale Cooper (and introduce in the same time the black lodge); and maybe not change so directly the focus of the show.

In other hand I love the second season and the movie so much like that, the movie explore the past with any taboo that something impossible to do in a tv show; and like Lynch have said that create a perfect circle between the two seasons and the movie.

In that case, I unqualifiably recommend the blu-ray! The question of whether they will eventually release FWWM separately is a really, really interesting one. I don't think Lynch will ever approve a series set w/o FWWM again (if he can help it) because it's so important for him that it not be cast aside from Twin Peaks. On the other hand, how does he feel about people viewing FWWM as a standalone film? I don't really know - I don't think I've heard him comment on the subject. I'd be fascinating to hear his take on that (a lot of horror and Lynch fans seem to appreciate it without tying it into the series at all).

I wonder if that was at all a sticking point. Though they apparently get along fine and did even during some of the more strained parts of TP, it's clear they have different conceptions of the story. Frost has apparently come around to Lynch's way of thinking about Laura's mystery (which was how he started as well), but I don't sense that her character is as crucial to him as to Lynch and I've never heard him say anything positive (or anything at all other than "I think a prequel was a mistake") about FWWM. And of course Lynch always puts the kibosh on talk of further Twin Peaks material. While it would have been fascinating to hear the talk of cross-purposes I suppose it would have compromised the presentation of Twin Peaks (including FWWM & the Missing Pieces) as a cohesive, sprawling whole rather than something incomplete. Maybe there was a tacit understanding that, since this was Lynch's grand chance to re-present such a controversial film (and a series widely regarded as a noble but failed experiment), Frost would voluntarily keep his own perspective in the wings? I dunno, but I'd be interested to find out.

Oh cool - I've never heard him say that, but it's exactly how I've come to see them ("a perfect circle"), especially after watching the MP (before that, I loved both the show and the film but felt frustrated by their completely different approaches - it felt like I had to choose between them at times and embrace the film as a rejection of the series, especially the way so many TP fans talk/talked about FWWM).

That is so awesome! What a gem of a scene that is.

I haven't watched everything yet, so I'm sure there will be some more unnoticed things. One thing I hadn't noticed before (for some reason) was the odd splice/jump cut when Leo tips over the kitchen table as he attacks Shelly in ep 21.

Just watched "Moving through time". Brian - this is fantastic! Next time I'll watch the movie (haven't seen it for years, and never like it very much) it will be totally difference experience. Thank you!

The one thing I had never noticed before was was during the pilot - Cooper, Truman, and Jacoby are speaking outside the elevator in the hospital basement. Jacoby has a tie with a Hawaiian dancer on it (complete with frills that dangle from the tie). He starts talking about Laura and he reaches his finger up into the dancers skirt! I have seen the pilot more times than i can count and I had never noticed this before!

I must say, of all the things I'm surprised they were able to "get away with" on television... that one ranks pretty high on the list in my mind. I guess it's one of those things a lot of people may not notice when they see the scene. I don't think I noticed it until the Gold Box DVD and I kind of gasped when I caught it.

I just took a look at my old VHS taped from the original broadcast, and the boom mike was not visible then! I guess this is due to the "overscan" used for broadcast back then. We see surprisingly more picture in the DVDs/Blu ray than was originally seen. Wish I had a way of digitizing the VHS picture just for comparison sake.

There are many (i could safely say almost all) takes that are different in framing to the original TV broadcast. Most of them have more visible right or left side, but some are little bigger on every side. I compared one episode (probably episode 8's scene in the hospital) and every take had little different framing to the TV rips.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I've just noticed that the Blu-ray version of FWWM has improved the close-up shots of Teresa Banks in the morgue (starting at 12.39). On my old DVD version either the actress or the camera are distinctly moving, but on the Blu-ray the movement has been considerably reduced.

Can anybody give me the contact of CBS so I could write them and request the replacement of one of my discs? Apart from audio issues the discs can contain bugs in various scenes and I have such case with one of the discs. Although the flaw is minor, I wouldn't like to put up with it.

Btw I noticed, that some of the scenes, which involve the slow movement of the cam (like in ep. 15 when the camera moves towards Leland/BOB in the Great Northern Hotel and in FWWM in the Red Room scene just before we see Laura) look a bit shaky. Did anybody notice it also?

Wondering why some of the "Previously On" segments are in HD quality when many are not? Did they recreate some and not others? Just wondering.

I think it's the same reason a few bits couldn't be upgraded to HD. The original negatives were missing.
The "Previously On" segments could easily be recreated. Don't know why they didn't do it.
