Does David use masonic images in this film?
Compare that Pompeiian mural of the skull showing the PLUMB BOB to this from MULHOLLAND DRIVE.
The director who won't hire the right girl gets in trouble and ends up meeting a weird cowboy. The bulb and skull are above him. When he arrives the bulb lights up, when he goes it switches off. And this cowboy is the epitome of CORRECTNESS. Look at his pristine outfit. See the film to see what I mean. That cowboy is a plumb bob.
