Double Ed's magic trick

Post by gavriloP »

I have seen BV numerous times but last night I watched it once again. And I suddenly realized how blind double Ed made his magic trick, you know the way he knew how many fingers Jeffrey was holding up.

Man, it was so simple. The other double Ed (who isn't blind) taps the answer secretly to his shoulder! I have to say that for the longest of time I had the cropped to TV video version of this film and in those days I didn't even know that there were two double Ed's as the other one was totally cropped away from the screen.

So there isn't magic in Blue Velvet! Not to say that it isn't magical, but you get my drift. As the script said, "this is the real world".

It also shows that Jeffrey isn't as good at observing as he thinks ;)

It is a fuzzy feeling when old love surprises you with something new!

Haha, great observation! I'll have to pay attention next time I watch Blue Velvet.
