Robert Knepper has been accused of historical assault so that may impact on some people's desire to rewatch the show.

Ugh. This was the first thing I'd ever seen him in and I really fell in love with him/the character. Why is everything shitty.

I just have no desire to rewatch the show because of what it was, not who was in it or what they have done in the past!

Accused? The only way to tell if he is guilty or not is to weigh him against a duck. Or a trial. Until then let's assume guilty, because, I mean. . . obviously! Oops, too late for a trail, so guilty is the only option, really.

As Gay Talese would say . . . suck it up.

That’s a lovely sentiment to echo on a board dedicated to a franchise that is in large part about sexual abuse and the way society ignores it.

That's disgusting, thanks.

Well Gay said it first. Plus a show about sexual abuse made by a man looking to redeem Roman Polanski has some inherent conflicts concerning morality.

If anyone has a more recent incident with mr knepper to bring to light, bring it on. But to condemn a man over an irrelevant "historical" accusation well past the statute of limitations, is what I find disgusting. Unless solid evidence comes to light, which seems not to be in the cards, I'm sorry that the fact that the only course in this instance is to suck it up and move on upsets some people.

The alternative?

There’s a middle ground between “innocent until proven guilty” and telling vicims of alleged sex abuse to “suck it up.” A very wide middle ground.

And that’s all I’ll say about that. I fear we’re OT and hovering on the edge of the political.

Agreed about the drift. Just to clarify, I am telling the hypothetical viewer who will now boycott TP to suck it up, not any victims, and certainly not Ms. Bertram, if by some odd chance she was reading this thread. :?:However, I recognize this hypothetical (non)viewer's right to believe Ms. Bertram over Mr. Knepper and act according their bias.

Mr. Talese is the one who, evidently, was never subjected to a sexual assault he didn't like. :o I have always had a negative reaction to them myself. Mr. Knepper has denied the charges, btw, so possibly it is OK to not condemn him for an incident that will never be brought to trial? Maybe his career is over . . . sigh.
