Post by Hervé Love »

French museum "fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain" publishes "David Lynch works on paper".

"This exceptional book brings together a collection of more than 600 drawings dating from the 1960s by the renowned American film director, David Lynch. His artwork was first unveiled to the general public in 2007 by the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris.

My book arrived yesterday from Amazon and it's incredible. By far the nicest quality book ever released of David's work. The publisher, Steidl, never cuts corners and the paper and printing couldn't be better. It's gigantic and comes in its own cardboard box (so that it won't get destroyed in shipping). Most of the pieces are reproduced at actual size. As detailed previously, there's the limited edition version with the litho, but even the regular version is limited to 3,000 copies.

TP 20, would you care to take some pictures of the book and post them in here?
I know I'd like to see it; so far it's blank on Amazon.

Try this link. I found it tonight digging around the net. I really wish when things like this are released pictures are released also, before the edition sells out.

You're welcome! Thanks for the support!

By the way, that link above is different than the version which arrived from Amazon. Here is my version:

http://www.steidlville.com/books/1118-W ... Paper.html

The spreads in the link aren't very impressive unfortunately, but the rest of the book is great. It's like opening a drawer at David's office and finding a treasure trove of 30 years worth of drawings, doodles, random notes, ideas, quotes, Bob's napkins, and old phone messages. Here are some shots of my favorite documents-- although not necessarily great examples of the art in the book, I thought you'd get a kick out them.

The book measurements are 11.5" wide, 16" tall, and 2.5 inches thick. Don't sleep on it!

Rob - how many other Twin Peaks artifacts are in the book? Is there anything about 'On The Air'?

Which one did you order? What's the difference between the two?

Is it hardback?

There's another TP memo re: an ADR session with a doodle, a scrap of Paris hotel stationary with a NY # for "Julie" Cruise. Nothing for On the Air that I've seen. Ronnie Rocket drawings, though. There are some logo designs for Lynch/Frost Productions, Wild at Heart, more stuff for Blue Velvet, Dune and Eraserhead than anything else.

The book I ordered on Amazon was from your first link above, but it's the same cover as seen as in your second link. It's hardcover, not paperback (as they mistakenly say on Amazon).
