Re: Introductions

Post by perno »

Hi folks. :)

Perno, aka Frédéric in the real life.
36 year old, married, 2 children, science teacher.

I love alla kind of game (tabletop miniatures, boardgames, roleplaying games...)

I've discovered Lynch about 17 years ago during my English Lessons in Highschool. My English teacher showed us Twin Peaks : FWWM and then Blue Velvet. I loved both of the movies even if, at this time, I didn't undestand them.

There was then a huuuuge blank, waiting the DVD to see, for the first time, the Twin Peaks TV show from A to Z.
Needless to say I've really LOVED this one. :)

Twin Peaks is my favourite movie (although I still have to see some Lynch's movies...)
I watch it really often and still learn from it.

I've discovered the forum while I was looking for some information about TP.
A lot of very interresting stuff here.

This is a damn good forum !

As you can tell, I am new here and am happy I found this forum!

I've been a fan of David Lynch since I first saw Mulholland Drive years ago when I was around 14 or 15. The first time I rented the film, I returned it before I could even watch it! I gave it a second try and fell in love with it and its world. After the credits rolled, I had no idea what I had watched but I still loved it! That led me to watch Lynch's other films and I am now a big fan of his work. :D

Personally I am a sophmore at a community college now, hoping to participate someway with the art of film. I have made some very short films on my Youtube channel "75791", but lately I've been busy with college.

Hello everybody, I'm Gordon, a long-time Twin Peaks Gazette member... I've never been a member of Dugpa, although I've read its threads and posts many, many times... Since the day Jordan announced the end of the Gazette I wanted to register in other Lynch related places, since I knew I'd meet there old Gazette friends and yeah, new friends... Inmediately Dugpa came to mind as the place to register, awesome and interesting... :D

Some of you I already know, some I don't, but I'm glad I found a new Lynch related home for me since I'm really sad to see the Gazette closing...

Greetings from Spain and here's to great and deep conversations, Lynch related or not... :D

And so am I... a long-time Gazette member... sad to see Jordan's site gone but happy to see there are still so many Peaks fans and Lynch fans around. My wife says I write more posts than I read but since I am new here, I will try to act humble and receptive instead of saying that I'm always right  That, however, excludes arguing with Gordon here, with whom I have been leading a couple of small light sabre duels for the last few years and we still never agreed about Annie Blackbourne's future. Sorry about that

As sheriff Truman would have said if it was him visiting the FBI headquarters, not Coop visiting Twin Peaks: I'm glad you have me here :)

Hello all! My name is Megan, I'm 27 & live in Lancaster, PA but not in the Amish part. I see more cops and "one way" street signs than farms or buggies! I was born here as well, but the better part of the last decade I moved around to and from a whole crazy mess of different places. I joined this forum because I'm interested in going to the 2012 Twin Peaks festival in August, and also to have another link to the TP world, as it doesn't seem like there's too much out there that is current. I was first introduced to Twin Peaks by my mother when I was 6 (or maybe still 5, not sure, horrible at math) when she had me join her to watch the series premier. I only have vague memories of this point, before I re-discovered the show I only recalled the waterfall, and tiny bits of Lucy, Cooper, and Laura. And the music- my mom bought me the cassette of the soundtrack whenever it came out, and she played it for me almost every night to help me fall asleep! So, flash forward to 2011: I was browsing imdb and clicked on a link about TP fan art, then one thing led to another and I looked up the dvd collection on amazon. I was broke so I asked my mom to get me it for my birthday. So, on June 8th, 2011 I became the proud owner of the gold collection! After I watched that twice I bought FWWM, loved it, and began rewatching all of the above. And now I am here!

Hi! Another refugee from Twin Peaks Gazette here. I think I read Dugpa's reviews and interviews before but never knew about the forum.
Glad to be here. It makes up a little for losing TPG.
I live in Germany but am British and I've been a fan of DL since Twin Peaks (or perhaps just before).
Nice to see other TPGers here too.....

Hey, I'm Charles. I first viewed TP in '90, enthralled and chilled by this show that was so, so much more than Television had been at that time. I grew up in Southern NJ near Philadelphia, reside in New York now. I've been out to the Pac NW twice, it's quite magical country and I couldn't help but think of Twin Peaks constantly.

I revisit the subject of Twin Peaks once every one or two years, usually when I have another BOB related nightmare. He's the scariest thing I've ever experienced in entertainment media.

I consider Twin Peaks to be one of the two greatest works of television ever. The other one I love is all over my avatar and signature, Neon Genesis Evangelion. I find the two very comparable but I'll shut up now as that's just fanboy projecting of mine.

I look forward to learning more and more about that show that scared the hell out of me as a kid!
God's in his Heaven, all's right with the world.
