Sorry, I just watched the pilot at NBC.com. Wow!! Graham is not nearly that strange/asperger's syndrome-like in the book. He's got an uncanny skill seeing into serial killer's minds. And the book takes place after the scenes in the TV show. Nobody really knows what the therapy sessions were like, other than Hannibal almost killed Will.

I am very impressed with the way NBC is doing the series. So far, it seems they are portraying Will as a single weirdo living with a bunch of dogs, rather than a married man with a wife and son. I guess that would make him seem too "normal." I have an urge to reread the book now.

I agree it's a very impressive show for a network like NBC. I've watched the pilot thrice and the second episode twice now.

Mads Mikkelsen's part of the dialogue is more clearly audible on the 1080P WEB-DL which could be sourced from iTunes(?) (no way to see the show legally from Europe). I love Mikkelsen's take on Lector.

I'll have to read at least Red Dragon now.

Edit: I recently watched a few more episodes of The Following just to make sure, and that show is an unmitigated disaster.

BTW You can watch the first episode of Hannibal for free in HD on the US iTunes store (US residents of course).

Melong, where are you from? It seems to be out of the US, but I can't find it in here.

Were you always a big Hannibal fan? If you want to go to a fan site for all things Lecter, look for the "Hannibal Studiolo." You can read their stuff even if you don't join. Ta Ta!

Hmm. I tried to PM you but something went wrong.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Here's a link to the US iTunes store. It seems the first episode is for free.

As I said there's no way for me to view the show legally so I thought it best if I'd reply in a PM.

Don't worry about it. I just tried to PM you and realized that part is broken, so I'll notify dugpa.

Where do you live?

I sent you a pm, Annie. By the way, smilies also seem to have stopped working.

Looking forward to tonight's Hannibal episode 3 (for me Friday morning over breakfast).

I was a fan (sort of) of the Hannibal character, but not of the last three films. I've never read any of the books before.

I am behind in Hannibal watching. Had to work way too late tonight.

I highly recommend the books. It kind of helps if you read them in order. Hannibal is my favorite, especially with the ending not shown in the movie.

Hannibal Rising is boring, IMHO.;)

The 4th episode was "banned" as a consideration to the victims of the Boston Bombing. Hopefully the episode will pop up somewhere, or at least be included in the DVD set when it's released.

The banned episode 4, Ceuf, is now available for download. Its source is a Korean broadcast. There are two versions so far, one of which is in 720p (small file size at 517 MB).

Glad to hear you guys are keeping up. I don't have a working TV (on purpose) and it's too hard to sit and watch it online. I guess I'll catch up later.

Do we have smilies yet? :P

Guess not.

No smilies yet, but we now do have a WEB-DL for Ceuf (1080p or 720p, no on-screen logos, no ads, large file size, etc.). Last week's episode 5 WEB-DL was also labeled 4 by mistake, but now there's the real deal.

No smilies, but I'm all smiles! This series (just watched episode 6) has become sooo good! I can't imagine anything but Breaking Bad being as good this year.

Do you plan to catch up with Hannibal on DVD, Annie?

I'm now contemplating reading both Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal before Red Dragon, because they center more on Hannibal Lecter.
