Lynch apparently cites it as an influence. Fascinating.

When I first saw that movie for the first time I was like "Whoa, someone anticipated the last episode of Twin Peaks 45 years before it was filmed!"

Nice... reminds me of the first time I saw Mario Bava's Operazione Paura (Kill Baby Kill in the US - horrible title for a great movie). There's a scene near the end that I always thought directly influenced part of that final Peaks episode. It kind of freaked me out...

I love Mario Bava's films almost as much as Lynch's films... they are beautiful and stylish, and I know Lynch cited him as an influence somewhere.
