I donated some dollars to Walter Olkewicz for his surgery a couple months ago and got a thank-you letter from him today. It reads as follows:

Dearest friends, fans, and family, I wanted to thank you all for the incredible support during this past fundraising campaign. I never would have dreamed that so many people cared. My rehabilitation treatments have gone on successfully for a couple of months now - none of which would have been possible without your generosity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. As I look forward a few months in the future to a full recovery - walking again - I feel a hope in my life that was not there 6 months ago. There are no words. You've given me my life back.
