I never thought of it before but I think you are right. If Lynch had directed the episode where Earle first took center stage ( the Diane Keaton episode) the character might have started on sounder footing.Snailhead wrote:Earle was a squandered opportunity. I think it could have worked out better if Lynch directed the first couple episodes that Earle appears in. That way, he'd have been able to set a good precedent for how Welsh should be directed (his acting in Episode 29 is notably improved) i.e. less is more !
I agree with the idea that the subplots of S2 could have been more interesting if the core narrative was stronger.

Re: Showtime to Re-broadcast Original Series Early Next Year
this isn't a spoiler --- it's just weird. Sorry if someone else has brought it up but I am wondering if I missed some news somewhere.
Or travelled back in time .....

a few excerpts (BOLD mine)
“Twin Peaks” season 3 teaser has been recently released and it is raising the excitement of audiences keen on the return of Kyle MacLachlan as FBI special agent Dale Cooper after almost 26 years. Since the show is making a comeback, it is expected that the mystery surrounding Laura Palmer’s (Sheryl Lee) death observed in season 2 will be solved finally"
"Furthermore, while talking about what kept him at bay to revive the show for another season, Lynch said that “Who killed Laura Palmer was a question we did not really want to answer.” He said that the mystery was the goose that laid golden eggs. “At a certain point, we were told we had to wrap that up and it never got going after that.” It seems now the time has come when the audience will finally get to know who killed Laura Palmer almost after 26 years"

Yeah, it's come up a few times. It's just a clickbait article which seems to have been mistranslated from another language. Nothing worth mentioning.

Even though it is nowhere near as good as the Laura Palmer story, I really enjoy the wacky side stories of season two. The James and Evelyn story is really the only one that I don't enjoy much.

Finally! After Lynch's recent comments about the importance of FWWM in the new series, it was a no-brainer to add it on their platforms.
This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.

Nice one. Two months to digest and then head first into the new one - that's awesome!

Nicely done, still a recreation of that ol' YouTube video we had years ago.

It would have been incredible if the last coffee reference was a 2 second clip from the new series...

Yeah, I was actually on the edge of my seat, thinking that there will be 2 seconds in there with someone from the new series drinking coffee.Snailhead wrote:It would have been incredible if the last coffee reference was a 2 second clip from the new series...
