Green, darkened mood, ominous Federal involvement, and those frickin triangles all over the place again. What are the triangles, Mark. It's not a Zelda crossover fanfiction so what's up with those things.

I'm really happy that Mark co-wrote the new series but I'm super OK with him not being involved in the visuals!laughingpinecone wrote:Green, darkened mood, ominous Federal involvement, and those frickin triangles all over the place again. Honestly, I think that cover is really damn cool. Will look great on the shelf next to TSHOTP.

Nice cover.
I have a hunch there'll be a tiny bit of post-s3 stuff as well.

I like to imagine that there is a blue rose beneath the half-slip in the same place that the owl was on TSHOTP.

Hmmm. So it looks like the cover for TSHoTP has an older building at the top of the falls (presumably an original version of the Great Northern / the Snoqualmie Falls Lodge in the real world), whereas this one shows the iconic rebuilt Great Northern / Salish Lodge. Nice. I still don't love the "half-jacket" approach to the cover, but I guess at least they'll look consistent together on my shelf. On the first one, the triangles look like mountains peeking up with the jacket on, so it sort of works. The half-seal poking out on this one looks...meh. Just sort of random and sloppy.

The triangle is related to the Illuminati, IIRC.

I think it looks perfect!
I wonder about specifying that it's a novel. Does this mean it will be a real narrative, and if so, whose story will be told? Judging by the cover, I'd guess maybe an FBI agent...

I believe The Secret History also had that "A Novel" text on the cover. I'm assuming it will also be in the same "epistolary novel" style.madeleineferguson wrote:I think it looks perfect!

'The Secret History...' was specified as 'a novel' also. I'm expecting it to retain the same epistolary style as the first book. In fact, the more I read about 'The Final Dossier', the more I'm convinced that it's basically the portions of 'The Secret History' that were excised to avoid potential S3 spoilers. Will be very interesting to see how these fit together!madeleineferguson wrote:

Wonder who will fill the "guide" roll of Doug in the first book? Garland (if he survives the first book's ominous ending....if not, Cooper as unreliable narrator)? I assume it will also take us through to the 2016 crime mentioned in the first book. I wonder if that will take us beyond the series, which presumably begins in 2014.

Ah, ok. It seems like some of the covers of TSHOTP contain the words "A Novel" and on some covers it does not. Weird.
