Oh yeah, I did love that scene.N. Needleman wrote:I was with it from the first scene with the Giant. Pure IE/Eraserhead.mtwentz wrote:I felt it was a slow burn- the first 30 minutes, I was extremely disappointed.Metamorphia wrote:Gonna be honest here: I'm pretty disappointed.
What I will say though is that it's clearly setting up a huge, 18 hour mystery and therefore I may judge it better as the series progresses.
What is Jacoby digging for? With shovels.
But I did fall off for a bit afterward.
BTW, those who thought Mattehw Lilliard would play a comedic role...

Double checking... The next two parts are available for another 45 mins, right?
Wow, a lot to process.

God, I love this music. Isn't it too dreamy?

Re: Parts 1 + 2 (Spoilers)
Damn! James Marshal's acting is very good. Surprisingly.
The "dog's bolllock's guy with 1 green glove... WTF?
Bass player hasn't bothered to plug in... not even a witness unit...
Good tune however.

The Giant perhaps now a sort of master god? It seems like the first scene with him and Cooper may be the actual Black Lodge. Notice how Carl is credited.

I really hate the Chromatics scene. It's just so... off.
And I mean, if you just compare the 'look' of the place in the old show with Julee Cruise... it's like night and day. :/
Please prove me wrong DKL

It is 25 years later. Why would the look be exactly the same? It still "felt" like the Bang Bang Bar to me.Metamorphia wrote:I really hate the Chromatics scene. It's just so... off.

I can't help but feel there's a massive disconnect though. Something just doesn't sit right

I thought it was going to be immediate but apparently it's at midnight.Audrey Horne wrote:Double checking... The next two parts are available for another 45 mins, right?

So I guess I'll shoot the shit with you guys for forty minutes.
Re: Parts 1 + 2 (Spoilers)
the guy in the warehouse watching the box seemed like typical awkward deadpan lynch character, not "bad acting." that's part of the style, it's in like every lynch thing. mathew lillards wife did come across a little off though I thought. at least in the scene in the jail with him. but she wasn't in it for long anyway.

Fine line between quirk and cringe.Driftwood wrote:and what was "my pocket rocket" in the pilot, shakespeare?Chester Desmond wrote:"You're nice and wet"
Puke. Cringe.
I am a massive DL fanboy, I can forgive anything, but this is unforgivable and does a huge disservice to Twin Peaks.
everything is so litteral and spelled out, cringe worthy.
So fucking sad.
If the visual effects were good I'd be somewhat on board but they are so bad. "Buff" fucked up.
Hang loose, Houlies

This may be intentional. My interpretation is that everything feels a bit "flat" or "off" because the world is off-balance. There is evil amok and it needs to be made whole again.Metamorphia wrote:I know, I'm not expecting it to.Cstar84 wrote:It is 25 years later. Why would the look be exactly the same? That guy hanging out in the loft doing a job he didn't understand reminded me of Desmond from Lost pushing the button every 142 minutes.Driftwood wrote:the guy in the warehouse watching the box seemed like typical awkward deadpan lynch character, not "bad acting." that's part of the style, it's in like every lynch thing.
Re: Parts 1 + 2 (Spoilers)
Thought Matthew Lillard was pretty damn incredible the first two parts. Nice to see Brent Briscoe play detective again.
