Ok... where was that intersection? We see Miriam who had just left the Double R, presuming we're in Twin Peaks and the new Fat Trout trailer park is now just outside the town. BUT we also see the #6 pole from Deer Meadow?? Also did that whole scene not visually recall the scene with Mike's traffic rant in FWWM??

My favourite episode yet. At one point I was feeling so happy like everything was coming together and that old Twin Peaks we know and love was in the air and then the scene with Carl and the mother playing with her kid in the park happened. At some point about half way thru it I started to feel this dread and then what do you know, truck driving Richard Horne appeared....

Wow. This is really something. This feels perfect so far...

I agree, although I still hold Parts 1 and 2 in high esteem, this was overall my favorite episode. There was so much packed into it though, I am going to have to watch about 20 times

Twin Peaks, the show wherein one can start the hour laughing and later be filled with abject horror.

Good content throughout. Surreal scenes were fewer this week; most of the narrative was in the "concrete" world of logic, so my mother was able to follow along better. Asked fewer questions, at least.

What are some opinions on these?:

*Is Dougie going to suddenly engage in physical combat by emulating the poster in the boss's office and the statue of the FBI agent? Maybe to fight the newly-introduced hitman?

*Did Hawk find some missing pages from Laura's diary? Who would have placed them there in the women's room? (If this were the case, I bet we all know what the pages would contain.)

*Did Carl Rodd expect that he'd see someone die and have their soul pulled into those power lines one day? Why else would he visit that spot every day?

I have not been disappointed in The Return yet, though I wish Cooper would regain his identity soon and book it to Twin Peaks. That may be quite a way off, since there have been hints to further plot developments in the Rancho Rosa area, and a lot of the characters introduced at the casino have yet to be fleshed out.

Thoughts on Red having supernatural powers? Or is he just good with his hands and or a coin?

It would be really interesting if Red is the same character from Lost Highway, he escaped from the police and the two characters were possessed by the Dark Man with the camera, who turns out to be a Lodge Inhabitant as well.

Red implied that he is new to Twin Peaks.

Of course, it would be fine with me if his character had nothing to do with Lost Highway.

Just finished watching Episode 6.

Initial impressions.

Mixed, but ultimately disappointed.

Tired of the Dougie scenes by now - but found the opening sequences bearable and even interesting.

Kyle is playing this role great, but it felt like "enough already" a couple of episodes ago.

I think Watts is doing a great job with her role too. But, again, enough of this storyline - it needs major progression.

I loved the short Albert scene, finally picking up from Episode 4. As he was walking into the bar, I thought "oh wow, if this is Diane in here, this is going to be the best episode yet!"

- And it WAS Diane. And it IS Laura Dern (like many of us expected). Yay!

But, alas....

No, this was not the best episode yet. This scene wasn't followed up on at all this time around. They're REALLY milking/dragging this. They could have at least given us a bit of dialogue or an extended follow-up to this scene after this.

Anyway, I was optimistic as the episode progressed, and when we saw the trailer park, Carl, and the Double R again, I thought I was right - that this would be the best episode yet - with all these TP-set scenes. But they didn't really go anywhere imo and still feel disconnected.

Nice to see Shelly/Heidi.

And we saw the big scene that was reported early on from spoilers.

But none of it made a huge impression on me - though I do wonder how this young Horne (who, by the way, no longer seems quite so menacing as in the previous episode after his scene with Balthazar Getty, but does seem psychotic) will get away with something like this in such a small town. And obviously the teacher who witnessed it will be key.

Of the remaining scenes in TP, I liked that Hawk finally figured out the indian mystery - were those diary pages? and who put them there? the one-armed man from the time he was sitting in that stall in the old series? or Annie? - and it was interesting to learn a little bit more about the new Sherriff Truman's backstory.

All the other stuff - including the little scary guy and Las Vegas scenes - just felt like more "MD"-style fodder to me. I'm sure it will all connect somehow, but I'm not that invested in these side stories.

All in all, I don't think this was a great episode, but like the previous episode, a couple of standout scenes and a couple of promising ones. I reiterate that I think airing this once a week due to the narrative style and glacial pace is a big mistake. There should be at least 2 episodes a week, but more and more I feel uploading all of this at once would have been better, as it is increasingly beginning to feel like one long movie we're watching in chunks.

I can't say I'm loving it - it shows some signs of picking up pace now and again, but then it back peddles too. I miss all the old characters and more stuff in the town. But, leaving all that aside, I just think the pace is way too slow. Interested to read all your thoughts now!

Question about the Drugged-Out Mom:

Is her "1-1-9" footage from tonight the same footage as we've seen before, or was it different? Looked really similar to me, but haven't compared.

I haven't compared, but she seemed to stutter in the same place. Also had Evan Williams before she took a drink. When she was passed out, the bottle turned to rum. I chalk that up to getting another bottle and not continuity. But anyway, it seemed to be the same. Will have to review.

I am really starting to love the Dougie/Cooper scenes. I feel like it is the heart and soul of the show right now.

I think hawk found the missing pages absolutely.. he noticed the bolting on the door was manufactured by the nez perce .. his tribe / heritage .

Naomi watts best episode to date. I am really enjoying the dougie stuff now , this was the first episode I was immediately invested in it.

Heidi's giggle had me cracking up

Also I was thrilled to see trumans wife again, I said to my dad before the episode aired "I'm sure I'm the only one but I hope we get to see her again" .. i see a lot of my own parents in that relationship so maybe I just appreciate it more haha

I feel like I'm forgetting stuff but I'm off to my first re watch ... this was maybe my favorite episode yet .

I am even more convinced that Richard Horne is Audrey's child.

Aside from the supernatural aspects of the character (which points to a non-mundane parentage) they seemed to be painting him as a little more sympathetic early on in the episode, which brought to mind how Audrey had originally seemed like a terrible person until you got to know her a little better.

It seemed like a call back intended to hint that he's Audrey's. The fact that he basically just harvested garmonbozia makes it a very unpleasant thought sadly.

The pilot, most famously. One of the most memorable sequences, considered revolutionary at the time.

I think it showed up in one other episode and FWWM as well.

I completely agree.

I suppose, depending on what parts of Twin Peaks speak to an individual viewer, different things can be evocative to different viewers.

The stop light did that for me. So did the shot of the RR with the mountain rising up behind it, even though I don't recall a shot specifically like that in the show. The focus of the shot was more the mountain than the RR.

On the other hand, Heidi's giggle made me happy, too.
