Nice reference to Big Ed's Gas Station. Also I still can't work out if Albert and Diane are in collusion. There's been a few hints and I think we discussed it around part 4, I think Albert knows far more than he's letting on. Interesting how Albert pulled Gordon back from entering the lodge though

It will be very interesting to see how Candie and Dougie interact with each other. So far both characters primarily react/respond only when addressed by other characters. I don't think Candie is experiencing the same thing as Dougie, but having to engage with a character that isn't expecting anything out of him, or projecting an idea of a person onto him, might stir or trigger something deep inside.KyleRickards wrote:I had exactly the same thought!jakemartinez wrote:A friend of mine thinks Candie is Laura Palmer... acts very clueless like Dougie... hmm...

Firstly, it wasn't Sycmore Trees we heard (it was, as someone mentioned, a New Order tune), secondly, Sycamore Trees weren't even in FWWM at all, was it (though, oddly, it is on the FWWM OST album)?Thatfabulousalien wrote:OMG, FWWM reference!!!jakemartinez wrote:The man on the piano was playing Sycamore Trees right? Curious to see the reaction of Anthony Sinclair when he finds out that Dougie has scraped through again. Will there be another attempt, or is that plotline now at an end (In Vegas, at least)?

About the wallpaper from the stairs with the woodsmen; yeah, it looks similar to the one in the painting, but the flowers themselves (or whatever it is) on the former is way smaller than those on the painting, aren't they?
Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)
Pretty sure the New Order song ends abruptly as what people are thinking might be "Sycamore Trees" begins. (The sudden shift in tempo/melody occurs just when Cooper seems to "recognize" what is being played.)bob_wooler wrote:Firstly, it wasn't Sycmore Trees we heard (it was, as someone mentioned, a New Order tune), secondly, Sycamore Trees weren't even in FWWM at all, was it (though, oddly, it is on the FWWM OST album)?Thatfabulousalien wrote:OMG, FWWM reference!!!jakemartinez wrote:The man on the piano was playing Sycamore Trees right? Yep. It's a new Badalamenti tune, the piano player strikes the first note and Coop turns his head. The first three ascending notes are the same as the melody of Sycamore Trees ("and... I'll... see...") but then it turns into a different piece.dustoff wrote:Pretty sure the New Order song ends abruptly as what people are thinking might be "Sycamore Trees" begins. Also, haven't heard this mentioned: How great is Carl Rodd's little flute?

You're right. I didn't mean dull. There was definitely a lot going on. I'm not sure what I meant. I just got a sort of quiet sense from it too - probably from the last scene.Rodigy wrote:Quieter episode? It was full with noise! So much going on!Jonah wrote:Just finished watching.
Initial impressions.
For the first time, I liked some non-TP set scenes more than the TP-set scenes.
I'm loving the Mitchums now - and those final scenes with them and Coop were sublime. We even get to see the old woman from the casino again.
Great to see a cherry pie taking center stage. And dreams!
Does Norma ever leave that booth? Oh, she does once to go behind the counter. I really wish she was being given more to do.
I'm not sure what to think of Shelly. Clearly she and Bobby are long separated.
The whole Becky saga doesn't really interest me. Nice to see Gersten Hayward (Alicia Witt) again, albeit briefly.
I didn't like the scene with Bobby and the woman at the car and the sick kid. Nor the kid who shot up the Double R. These scenes just felt really hollow and weird. I think they're being used to show how messed up the world of Twin Peaks has become.
Lot of Cole/Albert/Diane. And they all can see the woodsmen.
Another Log Lady call, and another map (reminds me of the Owl Cave map).
Who's that deputy, Jessie? Seems to be an innocent.
Not sure about the Candie-is-Laura-Palmer's-Dougie but could be. There's definitely something up with her, just can't tell if it's a quirk or going to be relevant.
Really loving the Mitchums/Coop dynamic. Will they be the ones to bring him to Twin Peaks? With Candie too? That might be very interesting.
Seems the one-armed man and the lodge are manipulating a lot of things - including the Mitchums dream.
And we get confirmation that the Bushnell poster is Don Murray's character when he was younger?
All in all, this felt like a quieter episode. I liked those last few scenes in Vegas a lot more than I liked the TP stuff this time around.
I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.

oh no, that was her? Ive been waiting for her and didnt even catch it. David loves casting these actors from decades old tv shows. I wonder if he purposely sought them out.Jerry Horne wrote:Thx to ScottyP.

Weird that the New Order song wasn't listed in the credits.

This show has more King Arthur references than Transformers 5.Both had the main character go bad.Are Lynch or Frost fans of the knighthood theme?Mario Stein wrote:I like the way they show connections to some important things. But the question is - does Copper see them? Golden ring + emerald, King Arthur theme.

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)
Somehow I don't think the world will care. It's still too strange, too dependent on viewer patience and too lost in the plethora of new shows available for it to become anything resembling a household show. Just like the old one, it will gain a cult following.docLEXfisti wrote:This is with no doubt the best show I have ever seen. Cannot wait until regular TV-stations show it to the rest of the world.

Actually Sycamore Trees is in FWWM but it's an instrumental. You can hear it after Leland walks into the sycamore trees and enters the red room. And weirdly enough Little Jimmy Scott is listed as the performer in the end credits.bob_wooler wrote:Firstly, it wasn't Sycmore Trees we heard (it was, as someone mentioned, a New Order tune), secondly, Sycamore Trees weren't even in FWWM at all, was it (though, oddly, it is on the FWWM OST album)?Thatfabulousalien wrote:OMG, FWWM reference!!!jakemartinez wrote:The man on the piano was playing Sycamore Trees right? I also thought they were similar but weren't exactly the same but had kept quiet while a dozen or people know kept saying they were exactly the same.bob_wooler wrote:About the wallpaper from the stairs with the woodsmen; yeah, it looks similar to the one in the painting, but the flowers themselves (or whatever it is) on the former is way smaller than those on the painting, aren't they?
