Re: The Entire Mystery Blu-ray: how common is packaging damage?
I live in a low humidity climate and my glue fell cleanly off at the 6 month mark. It actually makes the set easier to handle - it becomes a wallet and a case to put it in. Easier to lose the FWWM scrap, tho.

Re: is there any other show that even comes close to your obsession with TP?
I'm kind of a Lost apologist, but the engagement with that show is so different than Twin Peaks. It's a show about how us Gen Xers with nerd tendencies try to distract ourselves with esoteric meaning in an effort to outrun our parent's divorce/daddy issues (patterns we seem doomed to repeat) when we...

So cute! Couldn't you just eat her up?Yesterday I hit upon this fine piece of acting ... by the adorable Amanda Seyfried.

Inland Empire - An obsession for a decade, will answer "best movie ever" as this, despite digital grade Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me - Best movie of the 90's, full stop Mulholland Drive - Surprisingly un-deep, but a masterpiece Wild at Heart - Hidden in the shadows of other things, but gre...

Re: What is the general take on 'Who killed Teresa'?
It's clear that Bob is a metaphor for child abuse as a social ill... The show and movie depict the metaphor differently but there is no Bob as a seperate (sic) entity from Leland on any metaphorical or meaningful level. This is textually untrue, even if your point didn't include an apparent logical...

Re: Least Favorite Storyline in Twin Peaks
Wow, no one chose Josie as the Maid (that was in my top 3 for sure). The James/Donna plot had its share of weak moments, but when I think of them I always recall their beautiful scene together at the Roadhouse in episode 14. Has anyone ever heard the theory/rumor that the turning point between early...

Re: What is the general take on 'Who killed Teresa'?
That scene always confused me and wondered whether the entire intentions of the character were retconned between the show and the movie. It seems the two are trying to portray a different message. I have no issue with writers changing things but when it's such a huge plot point, it makes it difficu...

Re: What is the general take on 'Who killed Teresa'?
I'm actually surprised so many people in this thread think there's only one way to look at this, and if you don't see it like that you're "boring", or "you're ignoring things", or you're even commiting disservice to rape victims (?). Considering this is a David Lynch film we're ...

Re: What is the general take on 'Who killed Teresa'?
I am saying the actor is in just the right place that he needs to be psychologically to play a character that cannot admit to himself that he is a monster.

Re: What is the general take on 'Who killed Teresa'?
Ray Wise said many times that he played the character as someone who was being completely controlled by an evil entity as he hated the idea that Leland was consciously harming his own daughter. Yeah, that's a perfect headspace for Leland. You are saying the actor played it as a guy that didn't want...

Re: What's up with the creepy old woman in FWWM
An interesting theory. I know because of Lynch's style that these opinions are just that theories but I do find yours to be a bit too convoluted even for Lynch. I think what we do know is that the Curious Woman obviously had something supernatural about her. Perhaps she was just a vessel for a lodg...

Re: What's up with the creepy old woman in FWWM
Lynch's three films with female protagonists are all variations on one subliminal story: life is crappy, but particularly to women due to the fact that the traditional female gender role is inherently de-powering, putting them at the mercy of outside forces and subjecting them to difficult choices. ...

Re: What is the general take on 'Who killed Teresa'?
I approach Twin Peaks primarily as a David Lynch phenomenon, secondarily as another set of concerns related to Mark Frost, and finally as a TV show that many people worked on. This influences my answers to these kinds of questions. You presume that when he is "with Bob" that he is not 100%...

Re: ring time...
I think it is best to consider the ring in its symbolic contexts and how it is used, then basically meditate on this until a feeling congeals in your mind. Then think about it more consciously. My take is this: the ring part of the ring falls into the (non-revolving motion) symbols of rings and circ...
