Re: Inland Empire coming to Criterion
Does anyone know anything about a possible UK release? It's frustrating how different the Criterion collection is between the US and UK. The UK doesn't have the criterion channel either.

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?
I rewatched S3 a couple of weeks ago and actually think the atomic bomb scene in part 8 is incredible to watch. I've never seen anything like it in a TV show before.

Re: Important JUDY Related Observation
Some of you who are more on the ball might be able to answer these questions.... I thought Judy was meant to be based in Seattle (that's what Jeffries said in 1989) so why didn't Cooper go to Seattle if he was looking for Judy? Who told him she was in Odessa? It didn't really gel in my mind, when he...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)
Also, don't you think that apart from Bob, all the other mythology characters (mrs tremond & her grandson, the woodman, mfap) were neither clearly good or evil? They were a lot more ambiguous than that, it made the whole thing a lot more complex and interesting. Now we've just got a bogey man wh...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)
Regarding the mythology stuff, I think the problem here is all the cg effects. If you think about the mythology in fwwm eg: - laura in the painting - the convenience store & it's inhabitants - Judy behind the mask - the jumping man - the red room It's all clearly real; people / animals, costumes...

Well that I agree with..She's also a head in a glowing ball that can float into a ceiling-mounted trombone. Who knew?

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Take out Bob, Laura, the giant and "convenience store" sign and this episode would have no connection to Twin Peaks whatsoever. "Take out the most important elements of the episode, which are all from the original TP, and this episode would have no connection to Twin Peaks whatsoever...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
It's the first time I've posted in this thread. Didn't think I would but here I am. After really enjoying last week's episode (7), this felt like the first time (episode 8) I've felt disappointed by the series. I thought the effects, costumes and make up all looked a bit naff. The woodsman asking fo...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)
One thing I wonder about the ring found in Maj. Briggs: Was this ring of the Dougie and Janey-E that we have seen in Season 3, or was it the ring of Doug Milford and of his many wives? Considering Maj. Briggs' relationship with Doug Milford, it sort of makes sense that he would have access to this ...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)
Does anyone think that evilcoop will impersonate agent coop? Maybe some of those shots we see of Cooper in the trailer are actually evilcoop with short hair and suit? Haven't we already seen this? When Cole & Albert interview Cooper in prison in EP4, it's really the evilcoop, with the weird voi...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)
So I watched ep 3 + 4 last night, didn't want to binge watch the show so I'm going at the same rate as the broadcast. The interview with Cole and the long-lost agent Cooper was really tense and the best thing so far. This really does feel like a FWWM sequel in terms of mood. Couldn't be happier with...

Re: Parts 1 + 2 (SPOILERS)
What we're getting now, however, is all Lynch (if you exclude Mark Frost, who was seemingly just along for the ride). Not sure how you've got that impression on MF's contribution; Frost's Secret History Of Twin Peaks book is incredibly detailed and shows a real understanding of the TP themes and st...

Re: Parts 1 + 2 (SPOILERS)
Never mind about all that, this is a Parts 1 & 2 thread.
*moan over*
New series is incredible. Will re-watch 1 & 2 over the weekend and wait for the proper broadcast on Tues in the UK of ep 3. Don't want to binge watch the whole lot too quickly.
