Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)
Oh I love this. Can't even pick a fave. Maybe Coop's driving conflict being his inability to integrate his shadow self. Maybe "that time travel was an act of hubris" stated just like that. I feel like I'm sitting on coals waiting for that damn book to come out, but knowing that I find my ...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)
The following thread contains to my knowledge Mark’s most extensive comments on S3 to date, and lots of info pertinent to this topic: http://www.dugpa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3935 He takes ownership or co-ownership of the commentary on materialism/the financial crisis (no surprise there)...

Re: Mark Frost Q&A
Another update somebody shared on the Twin Peaks:DiaLOG page, this time couetesy of Davey Morrison Dillard: Just got back from seeing Mark Frost at a couple of panels at the Austin Film Festival! Thought this group might be interested in some of the things he had to say (one of the full interviews-...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
You know you're talking to a fanboy if they have different taste in music than you. Iron clad logic there. Exactly. I think you're crossing the line into self-parody a little BlueRoseCase.. I also disagree vehemently that the show is anti-nostalgia. DirkG has put it wonderfully and elegantly: Anti-...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
Frost hasn't ruled out Season 4 either - http://www.indiewire.com/2017/10/twin-peaks-season-4-mark-frost-david-lynch-showtime-1201891106/ “I haven’t decided yet,” said Frost in an interview with IndieWire. “I think it’s still an open question and it’s one that we’re looking at and one that I think ...

What happened to his documentary about Maharishi?
I remember around 2010 time he spoke about it as quite a big documentary film project, but it looks like it never got finished. (Like 47 from Inland Empire, hehe).

Re: "I mean it like it sounds, like it is."
I must say that never in a million years did I consider the above-the-convenience-store scene in FWWM to be taking place in our earthly realm. In fact, I'd assumed that the unearthly, non-literal reading was the standard interpretation among fans, based largely upon our discussions here on the foru...

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?
Hey Venus, glad at least you saw some glimmer of hope in the last two episodes. For me, those last two very evocative of some of the European Pilot and (of course) FWWM. The sound design throughout the series was excellent IMHO, but completely out of this world in 17 & 18. Yeah, the ending fina...

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?
The Return is shite and to call it "Twin Peaks" is an abomination. Better than the original?! Don't make me laugh. Frost, Peyton, Lynch & Engels all the way baby! I like the scope of the eighteen hour format, in my opinion it works better and more cohesively, especially with how retro...

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?
I was reading this wonderful summary and ending theorising from David Auerbach on The Return (which Kyle MacLachlan tweeted, and said he found interesting!) and it just brought home so much of what I loved about The Return. I am kind of in awe of what Lynch and Frost made here. I've never known a se...

I hope we will get some on the upcoming DVD set. Maybe a double interview? That would be great.

Re: Creepiest/scariest scene(s) [Spoilers]
I didn't find one single scene to be "scary." As far as being well-done horror, only Part 8 would qualify, and maybe the Sarah bar scene if the FX weren't so shoddy. The series needed a lot more horror than it had. The FX is meant to be like Lynch's paintings. Check out The Art Life if yo...

So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?
I'm not committing yet either way. I feel I'm weighting towards liking The Return more, but I need to revisit it in full and see how it works. Just thought I'd ask; I'd guess probably not given how negative the reaction is if you skim across the main threads here, but it would be interesting to see.
