Re: Episode 21

Wholeheartedly agree about the merits of the mentioned scene, except for the fact that the standoff at the Dead Dog Farm and Coop's later discovery of the murdered vagrant at the Sheriff Department are just as good and all three scenes manage to make this not-at-all-bad episode. You're thinking of ...

Re: Episode 21

Except for the "Leo attacks Shelly" scene. This was by far the best sequence in an otherwise very bland episode, I really liked the way it was shot - very horror movie-esque and sufficiently creepy while also ratcheting up the tension. The first time I saw it, I wasn't sure if Shelly woul...

Re: Episode 21

There are several things in this episode that leave me scratching my head: -The dead drifter's obvious resemblance to Coop (a lost opportunity to expose even more how twisted Earle is) Yeah, I noticed the resemblance back watching it on the original run. Earle killing Coop lookalikes was tragically...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

However that paint color, more often than not, is puke green. Using the horror genre as an example, Halloween, A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Amityville Horror. . .Poltergeist for crap's sake! All pointless, mediocre cash grabs that relied on and took advantage of an existing fan base and fell far ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I largely agree with you, Chester Desmond, about the frustrating aspects of the whatever-you-do-show-'em-nothing marketing strategy that seems to have been imposed by Lynch himself. I especially agree with the following statement: So far "Twin Peaks | Kyle MacLachlan Returns as FBI Special Agen...

Re: Episode 20

On the other hand, major points off for the way Holland executes (pun not intended) Coop shooting Jean. In the script, Jean draws his gun and Coop shoots in self defense. The way Holland shoots and edits it, Coop kills him in cold blood -- in fact, there's a quick shot of Jean holding the food tray...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I think nerds generally have a problem with being unable to handle people criticizing their nerd things without taking it as a personal assault There's a world of difference between criticizing and bitchin' and moanin' just for the heck of it. The latter attitude usually comes with ignorance, and t...

I suppose they've grown out of this phase, or at least Ebert has, I didn't like Ebert too much either and found he deserved when they poked great fun of him in South Park, but you know he died, right? Of course I know; I even watched the posthumous documentary about him titled Life Itself. Why? Do ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I think critics get a bad wrap. More often than not, they like the good movies and don't like the bad movies. I don't know about that. Critics tend to make mistakes very often, or are simply unfair towards a movie, judging it by some warped set of criteria when they should strive for a leveled crit...

She may have been urged by a fellow cast member to remove it because the person in charge of chasing down leaks is not one with whom to fuck. Takes the spoilers very seriously. I don't even work for the show and still got the hounds set loose on me at one point. Kind of a bit of insight into part o...
