Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Lurker: Interesting that Part 9 seems to have given a positive tinge to your feelings on the season as a whole, whereas I now have more misgivings about the show than at any point prior. There sure is an element of whiplash about this experience, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Glad you...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

New lurker (used to lurk about a year ago too), first post. Definitely struggling to enjoy watching the eps for a variety of reasons, yet look forward to next one each time. I suspect a 2nd viewing of the whole series will be much more enjoyable. I am not sure if I am disappointed, I feel disorient...

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)

It is heartbreaking to go back and watch Bobby scratch his wrist. Whyyyyyyyyy!!?? It does fit in with his first scene which pretty clearly sets him up as an accomplice to Red. :-( I'm not kidding this is devastating. Briggs saw only half the picture. So sad. Or you guys are falling for the obvious ...

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)

This is the first time it was mentioned. When Dave Macklay is telling Gordon & co the recap of everything surrounding the discovery of Ruth Davenport's head he says "and Hastings' secretary was killed in a car explosion" (apparently set up by Ray & Darya as mentioned in Part 1) be...

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)

What happened to Ray? If Chantal and Hutch commandeered the farm and had been there all night waiting for Mr. C, wouldn't Ray have arrived before Mr. C? I'm assuming this is the same farm Ray refers to in the car because that's probably why Mr. C had Hutch and Chantal there - he rightly assumed tha...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I guess it is partially just getting use to the new show. But I don't know, this feels a whole lot more like Twin Peaks to me For me, there's only one thing missing now: More nighttime scenes/motifs, like for example the train crossing in episode 2. It probably takes more time and effort to film th...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Ok. I really enjoyed that episode. Best piece of television I've seen for a long time. Does that make me a traitor to this group? It's probably because this episode had a bit of a plot! The relief in that after some of the episodes and the feeling that the story may actually be moving a bit......fi...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

We told you: Resistance is futile. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It definitely proves me wrong about some of the things I've complained about thus far. Because I can see in this episode that the very things which would've previously made me impatient were precisely what made this episode gr...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I am looking forward to watching the next episode in the hope that, in my opinion, it improves. You see I still have hope which can only be a positive thing! I just rewatched Gotta Light and it was like watching a mini movie all on it's own. One that felt, to me, completely disconnected to anything...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Oh, and to LurkerAtTheThreshold: Sure, we're all a little bit ridiculous here. I mean, spending time on a discussion board pouring over the intricacies of a TV show is inherently a pretty ridiculous act. I say embrace it! Also, I was totally going to respond to your post with an Albert joke, but Ci...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I feel the most resounding and tumultuous need to present my argument regarding the use of anti narrative 'badness' in characteristic verbose harangue. Albert, where does this attitude of general unpleasantness come from? It's fine if you aren't enjoying this particular series, but unless you want ...

I feel the most resounding and tumultuous need to present my argument regarding the use of anti narrative 'badness' in characteristic verbose harangue. Whilst I commend the efforts of my compatriots in comparing the avante garde use of Lynchian 'Badness' to the French New Wave and the profound influ...
