Re: Forum Closing April 15th, 2022
Not crazy about Tulpa as the name but could see why people like it and it does seem apt, just not personally a fan of it, though agree Dugpa would not be appropriate. Just curious why you don't like 'Tulpa'? It was basically the 'dugpa' of Season 3... Edit: by 'dugpa' of Season 3, I mean the mystic...

Oh dang, lots of memories here. Will follow Twin Peaks stuff on Twitter but will miss the deep film analysis.

I am going to channel my inner Agent Earle here and say I won’t get excited just yet. Still just an unsubstantiated rumor at this point.

Re: The Criterion Channel
In your country, do you have a specific streaming service that might cater to viewers with a more artistic bent? However, in my hometown, we have two small theaters which specialize in arthouse films and classics. One of them is currently holding a Pier Paolo Pasolini retrospective - they are showi...

Re: The Criterion Channel
Unfortunately, The Criterion Channel is not available outside of the US and Canada, so I can't access it without a VPN or some other shenanigans, and I don't have enough will to do that. Otherwise, I would have subscribed a long time ago... :( I am the same- people tell me I could access some conte...

Re: The Criterion Channel
Recently, Warner Media rather callously pulled the plug on FilmStruck, the best streaming service on the internet, cutting off the service's cinephile base's access to the TCM library and the Criterion library. Either should be of interest to Lynch fans, but especially the Criterion library which h...

We don't "know P/L" but we do know from statements to its own shareholders (which cite actual figures included in the confidential filings not published by the SEC for obvious reasons) that Twin Peaks was considered one of the main contributors to a surge in subscribers the previous year....

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
In a world of endless sequels, revivals, reboots, remakes, etc., if David Lynch wanted to make a new season of Twin Peaks , would there truly be any chance that he could be stopped because of lack of interest of other involved parties? Or any other reason whatsoever? $$, creative control — lots of ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
Paramount and SpyGlass recently bought the rights to the Scream series. A very different IP obviously, but there is one similarity - both were products of the 90's, and 90's nostalgia is strong. I'm not sure how well The Return did for Showtime. I know what Nevins said and I know there were lots of...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
Well specifically I was referring to episode 8, Season 2 premiere. That's the episode that really piqued my interest in Twin Peaks, but also the one that was the beginning of the end ratings wise. I remember reading shortly after the series ended that the opening scene with the waiter and the Giant...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this? Wisteria/Unrecorded Night? Something else? (Speculation thread.)
I believe the original Twin Peaks was probably more commercially successful because of multiple directors, but it would likely have been a better show artistically had Lynch been able to direct all the episodes. So while I think the collaboration worked well on Twin Peaks, it was still less than id...
