The green glove was what put an end to my plans of doing an edit. There is no story, there is no ending, no amount of editing (without access to possible cut material) can fix that.Soolsma wrote:Quite curious about how you're gonna work around the green glove.

Re: Theories & Speculation
I don't see it as annihilation, I see it as Cooper being trapped but working on a plan of action so he is ready when he can leave.Poiuyt wrote:I'm also starting to think the whole season was just a Lodge fever dream, the slow annihilation of Cooper's soul. Oh, Lynch, how he hurts me so.

Re: Theories & Speculation
I think it's another great example that maybe what we are watching is a dream or a version of reality that Cooper has conjured up with his mind. That is the only explanation that I can come up with that explains all the inconsistencies, plot holes, vague characters, meaningless time wastes and comp...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)
A relevant character, one shown to have a good heart using the glove would have made quite a lot more sense. When a meaningless side character beats BOB it means BOB isn't and never was a threat, and isn't important.

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)
Also, it's not like Twin Peaks has ever subscribed to the kind of strict narrative rules you describe. That is, really, the heart of the problem. It's not like Lynch and Frost went back and examined how the Giant behaved in the original. They just used a same actor as a similar character, without a...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)
If the Fireman and the Giant are the same character, something very significant has changed betweeen S2 and S3. Some kind of power balance has shifted, perhaps. I wrote in some earlier topic: In the original series, the Giant clearly says he is only allowed to give Cooper hints, and a limited amount...

Re: Why so little of Grace Zabriskie?
Well... I suppose this is more a topic for the disappointed thread, but since you asked: S3 was Twin Peaks in name only. Lynch and Frost didn't have story to tell with Sarah Palmer so they didn't. Same with Leland. They just didn't. And won't.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Total nonsense. It is readily apparent that Frost and Lynch both care about the fans and Twin Peaks. Completely ignoring most of the continuity, dismissing characters such as Cooper to side notes and contradicting every theme and mood in the original speak loudly to the contrary. What they wanted t...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
And since this is the Disappointed thread, I’ll add once again that while I can intellectually appreciate the scene on all these levels (and have also come around a bit on the really trippy shooting/editing style now that I have the ability to freeze frame it in HD and appreciate the various compon...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
A thought just struck me. I had an idea of doing a fan edit of S3, cutting out all useless bits, until the final episodes made it clear it's all useless. But since it was all a fraud just get a budget to do the stories they wanted to do by painting a Twin Peaks logo on it, maybe the solution isn't t...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
No idea why I just thought of it, but my goodness that Green Glove thing was just plain inept. I think that is one case where it is actually fair to say "you just don't get it". How ironic it is that it's you who just don't get it. Lynch and Frost failed to deliver a satisfying arc for BO...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Leaving the store the other day and heading back to the car, I suddenly thought about Twin Peaks and immediately felt sad. It dawned on me how ridiculous the very concept is. It's just a show! Yet storytelling is such an important part of our lives, and our favorite story has gone bad, so maybe it ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Season 3 can be open to criticism, especially with deliberate choices that were made story wise. But it's hard to argue that Lynch did not break boundaries once again with some of the most visually and auditorily compelling scenes on television ever. The Purple Room, the 'White Lodge', the Black Lo...

Re: Who is Alice Tremond?
My going theory for a while now has been that some of the Lodge spirits operate on what TV Tropes calls "Blue and Orange Morality" - meaning they aren't easily classified as good or evil or even "gray" so much as they just operate by a set of rules that we don't understand. This...
