Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)
I couldn't help but notice that Good Dale's hair remains perfectly gelled up at all times. I can understand that being the case in the Black Lodge, where normal rules of reality don't apply, but once he is out of the Black Lodge it doesn't make sense. I'm thinking particularly about when he wakes up the next morning and is sat on the bed looking at his clothes. No "bed hair" sticking up (like there was when he awoke from his mad dream in episode 2 of season 1). No overnight stubble on his face.
Also, no need to shower, apparently. Even his wife thinks all he needs to do is urinate and then get dressed.
Do you think this is a clue that he's not real?

Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)
Nobody got any thoughts on this?
Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)
I wouldn't read too much into this. We saw Cooper wake up several times in the original series without stubble and sometimes without the disheveled hair (most notably in the final scene of Episode 29).
Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)
I haven't really read much into that, but Cooper's body might not be a body, at least not in the same way that our bodies are bodies.
Dougie was a fabricated person, so we don't know what implications that has for his biology.
And Cooper was some spirit or astral figure before he jumped through the electrical socket and ended up in Vegas. So his body might not really be a body in the conventional sense.
Who knows, maybe when this Cooper gets cut he bleeds maple syrup. I kind of think he has a regular human body though, just because I can't really conceptualize of him having any other kind of body.

Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)
When I watched the original series, I was always under the impression that Cooper 'checked' his physical body at the door when he entered the lodge - sort of like a coat check - and that whichever Cooper exited the Lodge would take control of the body. This would explain how Cooper enters the curtains wearing a rain coat but emerges in the Red Room without one. He's not a flesh-and-blood being walking around the rooms - it's more of an astral projection or something along those lines.
But this season presents some issues with this theory because of the Dougie character. While Evil Cooper could be in the original Cooper's physical body, it doesn't appear that Good Cooper is in Dougie's body. There's obvious physical differences between the characters that others notice (the weight, the hair), so it does seem like body & soul were in the lodge for 25 years.

Hmmm I like your "coat check" theory a lot. I'm not sure that Dougie necessarily defeats this idea: he's a construction, manufactured and "nonexistent"....so the physics of the swap might be an anomaly/exception to the usual rules.dkenny78 wrote:When I watched the original series, I was always under the impression that Cooper 'checked' his physical body at the door when he entered the lodge - sort of like a coat check - and that whichever Cooper exited the Lodge would take control of the body. Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)
One thing I noticed is that the police photo of the captured Bad Dale showed him with a little bit of stubble. This suggests his body is real. So it could well be possible that Casino Dale (HELLOOOOOOO!) is not in a real body, or that the body does not operate according to normal laws of reality.
Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)
He's also had a haircut since he entered the Lodge; I wonder if Judy's convenience store has a barber! And Dougie's haircut reminds me of Kyle's young Paul Atreides hair.Elad Repooc wrote:One thing I noticed is that the police photo of the captured Bad Dale showed him with a little bit of stubble.
