Posted this in Part 14 thread, but realized I should probably make it its own as well. What is your ranking?

---

A totally random, arbitrary ranking of the episodes in terms of personal enjoyment/interest:

1. Part 8
2. Part 11
3. Part 5
4. Part 3
5. Part 14
6. Part 7
7. Part 2
8. Part 1
9. Part 13
10. Part 10
11. Part 15
12. Part 6
13. Part 4
14. Part 12
15. Part 9

I know the show was introduced as "one long movie" but as it has unfolded, I've found it to be much more like a TV series in certain ways than I would have expected, with each part having a distinct flavor and balance (one writer compared this to mixology).

I think ranking 18 episodes is too tough-

but for me, I still see Ep. 8, Ep. 1-3 as my favorites so far. Beyond that, they are all more or less equal to me. Those 4 standout for me above the others so far.

At this point, 8, 15 and 6 are the show-stoppers for me, in that order. The rest I'd have to review/think about.

It's at #12 though I think I might have originally intended to place it at #10.

So far I'd rank 8, 7, 15, 11, 3 and 2 as my favourites.

I'll try and rank the whole thing when I see it all. 6 and 12 are my least favourites.

This was a hard list to make. I think the earlier episodes are more cohesive, and involving. Allowing the story to unfold, rather than be explicitly explained like the later Parts works better every time. Less 'plot' driven Each segment is in descending order-the top of each being the most 'loved' or 'liked' whatever, and the bottom of each being the least.

LOVE - Part 11
Parts 1 & 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 6
Part 8
Part 5
LIKE - Part 15
Part 14
Part 13
Part 10
DON'T- Part 7
Part 9
Part 12

I'll try to put them in groups, it'll be easier to read, too.

First, the ones I really liked a lot without any particular problem:

3
5
7
11
14
- and 8, which I still have to place on the side of all the others

Ones which I liked, but had some more serious issues:

4
15

Ones which I rather didn't like or left me indifferent:

6
9
10 (although perhaps I liked it.. can't remember right now)

Ones which I didn't like at all:
1
2
12
13

Surprised to see so little love for 6. The narrative may have ground to a halt for a week, but it was full of stellar atmospherics, from Cooper slowly taking satisfaction in a form of expression with his doodles--the first real hint at how emotionally disarming his small moments of lucidity and curiosity could be--to Richard's bizarre encounter with "magic motherfucker" Red, to the hit-and-run, all capped off by one of my favorite Roadhouse performances. I felt the Cooper scene and the hit-and-run in particular really tapped into Twin Peaks'/Lynch's uncanny emotional core. The episode is full of scenes drenched in artifice--from scenes that are consciously overlong to some of the series' most non-naturalistic takes--but its content is made all the more affecting for it how powerful it becomes to break through that defamiliarization to its simple truths. It tears down all the normal defenses.

It might not lend itself very well to weekly viewing, when audiences are waiting for developments to be doled out, but I feel like time will be kind to episode 6.
